BIG TIME, Big Girl
Gymnastics efforts from ALL of our kids this past Sunday made for
missing the NFL Championships so very well worth it!
The
Level 6 TEAM scored 86.7 which is our school’s highest Level 6 TEAM
total since the Levels were established, topping our previous high by
over a point and awarded them the 2ND PLACE TEAM Trophy for
the event!
The
squad was lead by SARAH and GABBY D who put up All-Around scores of
28.95 and 28.75 respectively. GABBY’s total was a PERSONAL BEST, 1 of
her 2 for the day, and gave her a Level 4 score. It also bested her
previous high All-Around by over a point. GABBY STUCK Beam, 1 of our 7
STICKS for the 2 session competition. SARAH had CAREER HIGHS on Vault
and Bars as she continued with her outstanding opening season.
MEG
L had 3 PERSONAL BESTS including her All-Around which got her a Level 5
score, while she too had a STUCK Beam.
ALI
was the last of this group to have NO-FALLS on Balance Beam and scored a
CAREER BEST 7.6 on that event to win 1ST PLACE there, while
her All-Around and Bars also had PERSONAL TOP SCORES.
GIANNA
won
1ST PLACE
and scored an 8 on Vault, a CAREER BEST on that apparatus, while she
also added PERSONAL HIGHS on Floor and her All-Around.
Picking
up 2 more TOP CAREER SCORES was SHELBY who had hers on Vault and Floor.
All
told, the Level 6s totaled 16 PERSONAL BESTS combined for the event.
LAURA
was a monster at Level 5, with 4 CAREER HIGHS, a SWEEP of 5 FIRSTS, (in
a very competitive age-group mind you), and her second score necessary
for Level 3. Laura came into this season with a previous All-Around high
of 27.6, and while she has had increases in that total each meet this
year, the 31.9 score in her All-Around that she put up yesterday, would
certainly say that the girl came to play this year!
GABBY
C came off of illness to post
a 1ST PLACE
AWARD on Vault, while getting a PERSONAL BEST on Uneven Bars.
At
Level 4, don’t call it a comeback, MADDY returned after a year plus of
rehab due to a knee injury and came out of the gate like she never left,
putting up 5 CAREER HIGHS with the highlight being her All-Around where
she improved her prior TOP SCORE by over
a point and a half! MADDY received her first State score as well with
her efforts for the day.
The
Level 2 girls were shorthanded due to MARGAUX’s illness, but
nevertheless carried on and represented nicely. BRI and HALEY each hit
34s with BRI being just 1 tenth higher than her teammate. HALEY’s
score was a All-Around BEST which also gave her a State score. BRI had a
CAREER HIGH of 9.3 on Floor and totaled enough for her second number
needed for States, while BOTH gymnasts STUCK their Beams.
The
Level 3 TEAM was deliciously impressive, with collective efforts from
each of our girls that awarded them the FIRST PLACE TEAM Trophy against
some serious-tough competition. They went 99.85 as a TEAM for the event
and it gave us a lot of PRIDE to be BARKING with that trophy at the end
of the night!
KYLIE
was the squad’s leading scorer going 33 even, which was a PERSONAL
BEST for her. She also had PBs on Bars and on Beam where she STUCK that
event and totaled an 8.6 there. KYLIE gets her second score necessary
for States as well as a Level 2 score.
MEG
H had our last STUCK Beam as she scored an impressive CAREER HIGH 8.8 on
the apparatus while she got her first State score in this, her opening
meet of the year.
RACHEL
had 2 PERSONAL TOP SCORES on Vault and Floor and got her second State
qualifying score as well as a Level 2 total.
Also
getting her second State score and another Level 2 total was ASHLEY, who
had a CAREER BEST in her All-Around going 32.7.
LIV
had 3 PERSONAL HIGHS, on Bars, Floor, where she scored an 8.5, in her
All-Around, which upped her previous CAREER TOTAL by almost a full
point. She too, scored enough to now be going to States.
This
aforementioned group combined for 17 more PERSONAL BESTS on the day
while ALL of our gymnasts together totaled 38 for the day.
Throughout
the afternoon and evening’s competitions, several times our girls came
off of what some might consider disappointing results on an event. What
was encouraging and exciting was how they responded afterwards, with
focused and all-in efforts that made the COACHING STAFF quite PROUD and very
pleased.
While overall the results of the day are very rewarding, we are looking
for the girls to continue improving so that we reach a PEAK EFFORT at
Level 5/6 States in several weeks. That’s where the fruits of
everyone’s labor should be
recognized.
There
are many talented gymnasts on our roster. Some just don’t know how
GOOD THEY CAN REALLY BE…
WHO DAT?!

JIVE #3
Before
we get to the results of this past Sunday, we’d like to THANK, right
from the get-go, the many folks who helped us with the competitions.
From the PARENTS and FRIENDS and SIBLINGS and COACHES and TEAM members
who weren’t competing, you guys are the BEST and we LOVE YOU for the
HELP and CARE you ALL showed us and our school this weekend. THANK YOU!
THANK YOU!
Level
5 and 6s were in competition at our DAWGHOUSE and all-in-all the girls
did quite well. ALL 8 participants had at least 1 PERSONAL BEST with a
total of 14 CAREER HIGHS for the day.
The
Level 6 team had the HIGHEST TEAM SCORE out of the 4 other squads they
competed against Sunday as they posted an 84.3. That total also was the
highest Level 6 score in the past 2 years here.
Leading
the 6s with a 28.65 All-Around was SARAH, giving her the FIRST PLACE
Ribbon there; one of three she collected for the day. Her total was the
second of 2 scores needed for her to compete at Level 4 after her Level
6 season is completed. SARAH had a PERSONAL BEST on Bars while she
“STUCK” Beam for her 3rd
meet in a row!
GABBY
D won 4 FIRST PLACE Awards and had a CAREER HIGH on Floor, the third
consecutive meet where she has improved her score on that exercise.
Having
2 PERSONAL HIGHS on Bars and in her All-Around was MEG who got her first
Level 5 total. MEG also had a “STUCK” Beam routine as well.
GIANNA
had the session’s high score on Vault with a 7.9 which was a PERSONAL
BEST for her. She also had a CAREER HIGH in her All-Around, which won
her the last of her 4 FIRSTS for the competition.
SHELBY
nabbed 2 more PERSONAL BESTS on Floor
and in the All-Around.
ALI
had 2 CAREER HIGHS in her All-Around and Floor as well, while she
achieved her second score necessary to move up to Level 5.
In
the first session, LAURA and GABBY C were our competing Level 5s.
LAURA
“STUCK” Beam for a PERSONAL BEST score for her, with her efforts on
that event also awarded her the FIRST PLACE Ribbon there.
GABBY
C had 3 CAREER HIGHS. On Beam and Floor, she recorded her first 8 scores
ever on those events, while her All-Around totaled 30.7 which moves her
onto Level 3 for next season.
As
always, there are still many corrections that need to be made,
especially with getting stingier on giving
tenths away!
Again,
THANK YOU to everyone who helped us this weekend!
GO DAWGS! PUT YOUR
PAWS UP! BE EXTREME!

GYMDAWG JIVE #2 2011-12
Season
All of our TEAM girls were in competition this past Sunday, with the
second meet of the year for the 5 & 6s, and the season opener for
the 4s and up.
The
Level 2s totaled 100.75 as a team, the first time since the 2009
campaign that we have had a squad bust the century mark. They were led
by BRI, who put up a PERSONAL BEST 35.05 All-Around, giving her a Level
1 score and her first score necessary for States. She tied PERSONAL
HIGHS on Vault and on Beam, where she had one of our five STUCK
routines. MARGAUX also had a no-fall Beam, getting a FIRST PLACE AWARD
there and a State score, while HALEY tallied 5 TOP 3 finishes along with
a FIRST on Vault.
ASHLEY
led the Level 3s with a 32.35 CAREER HIGH in her All-Around, as she
swept all 5 FIRST PLACE AWARDS; that included another PERSONAL BEST on
Vault. She also gets the first of 2 scores need for States. LIV, KYLIE,
and RACHEL added State scores as well, while KYLIE had a PERSONAL HIGH
score on Bars and RACHEL put up a CAREER BEST on Vault.
For
the Level 5s, both GABBY C. and LAURA got their second qualifying scores
for States with their highlights being GABBY’s FIRST PLACE Vault and
LAURA achieving her second Level 4 score necessary for advancement.
All
of the Level 6s received their second State scores, meaning 6 out of 6
Level 6s and 2 out of 2 Level 5s will be going on into the postseason.
The
Level 6 TEAM was awarded the SECOND PLACE TEAM TROPHY for this very
competitive event. GABBY D. was the high scorer with a 27.35 All-Around
and she swept all
5 FIRST PLACE
opportunities. GABBY also got her second Level 5 score as well. GIANNA
and SARAH also scored enough in their second career meets to qualify for
Level 5, while the aforementioned girls, GABBY D., GI, and SARAH, all
STUCK Beam! ALI had a PERSONAL BEST on Vault, while MEG put up a
PERSONAL HIGH on Floor, with
SHELBY
scoring CAREER BESTS on Beam and Floor.
While
overall the results were more than satisfactory; there still remains a
lot of work ahead as this is a talented group of gymnasts that can truly
do so much better.
Thank
yous go out to MEG H. for coming and supporting her teammates and also
to COACH KATE for being there for the girls as well.
GO DAWGS! PUT YOUR PAWS
UP! BE EXTREME!

GYMDAWG JIVE #1 2011-12 Season
Our Level 5 & 6
gymnasts had their JOGA season opener this past Sunday and the girls
handled themselves quite right thank you.
The Level 6s put up
the highest TEAM TOTAL in the last 2 years and given that there were 4,
first-year competitors on the 6-girl squad that is certainly something
to be encouraged about moving forward.
Newby SARAH, led
the team with a 28.65 All-Around, highlighted by a STUCK Beam, where she
posted a 7.85 there and gave her the FIRST PLACE Award on the event.
SARAH’s total not only gives her a STATE score, but also a Level 5
score and a Level 4 qualifier as well!
GABBY D had 3
PERSONAL BESTS, including her AA were she totaled 27.5, which gives her
one Level 5 score and also STATE score.
GIANNA busted 27
and change in her career opener, while ALI, also a first-timer, had our
club’s second STUCK Beam, scoring a personal meet high on that
apparatus with a 7.3. Both girls got their first of 2 STATE scores as
well as their first Level 5 scores.
MEG and SHELBY each
received qualifying scores for STATES too, as our GYMDAWGS went 6 for 6
in getting that first STATE total out of the way!
Our Level 5
gymnasts, LAURA and GABBY C were huge in their competition opener, as
both girls totaled over 30s to start this JOGA campaign off.
LAURA had a 30.9
All-Around, which topped her previous high by almost 3.5 points! She was
a perfect 5 out of 5 with her PERSONAL BESTS, including her first 8s
ever, on Floor and Vault.
GABBY C went 30.65
overall, which was one of the 4 CAREER HIGHS for her day. GABBY’S
other PERSONAL BESTS were on Vault, Bars, and Beam.
Both Level 5
gymnasts totaled enough to warrant Level 3 qualifiers, while each got
their first STATE number.
Appreciation goes out to KYLIE and RACHEL who were there in support of
their teammates.
While COACH KIM was
very pleased with the beginning efforts of all of our girls, there is
still plenty of work to be done with lots of room for improvement.
Next meet up will
be in
Cherry Hill
for ALL of our Levels, December 11th.
GO DAWGS! PUT YOUR PAWS UP! BE EXTREME!

Did

At
this year's RELAY for LIFE,
the United States Marine Corps had a booth where people were attempting
to hold a chin-up in the top position for over 70 seconds in order to
receive a prize. In the 9 or so hours that they were there, it is our
understanding that very few folks were able to complete the task. Well,
except for a couple of our GYMDAWGS!
Congratulations to EXTREME'S
own BRI
MESINGER and HALEY
STACK for holding
on, finishing the task, and scoring a pair of very cool, U.S. Marine
Corps shirts!

Here
at EXTREME GYMNASTICS, we have been very
excited by the achievements of so many of our students, with lots of SUCCESSES-
both in and out of our gym!
It's a FACT; those that have been
consistent with remaining in our programs have seen the most ACCOMPLISHMENTS.
And some of the things that they have been REWARDED
with include:
- higher
levels of confidence and self-esteem
- better
body-awareness with more coordination and agility
- improved
positive-state of mind
- increases
in strength and flexibility
- greater
progressions of skills
And
that's not even acknowledging the newspaper articles, awards,
medals, championships, and class records of achievements that our
students have won in competitions, both with us and at their
respective schools!
Since we are all concerned with the overall physical and mental
well-being of our kids, the structured summer programs here at EXTREME,
offer EXCELLENT OPPORTUNITIES to have
your children have FUN and STAY
FIT; while doing something WORTHWHILE
with BOTH their bodies and their minds!
It is important to keep in mind the CONTINUATION
process-KEEP IT GOING! KEEP IT GOING! KEEP IT
GOING!
As it will lead to further DEVELOPMENT,
PROGRESS, and GROWTH- all
of which will culminate into GREAT SUCCESSES!
Did
you know that BOTH The National Association for Sports and Physical
Education and The Mayo Clinic recommends that Preschoolers should have at
least
60 minutes of STRUCTURED physical activity each day!
_________________________________________________________________________________________________
EXTREME
FACT: Over the past 5 years now, almost 80% of the
kids
who took MULTIPLE classes, or,
did
class AND camp combos, came out of Summer and
moved
into ADVANCED classes in the Fall!
Plus,
just about HALF of them were invited
to be a part of our
TEAM
or PRE-TEAM programs!

Awesome
opportunity
to help give your children an ADVANTAGE in LIFE
|
One of the best investments
you can make is improving your child's
overall development and well-being.
Gymnastics is designed to build strong bones,
strong muscles, and strong minds and it helps
children build a healthy foundation for the rest
of their lives!
It provides opportunities for physical and
character development that are hard to find anywhere
else.
Children
gain body-awareness while they learn to exercise their
bodies as well as their minds.
Gymnastics is perhaps one of the most comprehensive
"lifestyle exercise programs" available to
kids.
Few other sports incorporates strength, flexibility, balance,
speed, coordination, power, and grace, not to
mention commitment, discipline, focus, poise,
confidence, perseverance, and goal-setting the
way that gymnastics does!
Gymnastics also
helps your child socialize within peer groups, be with
friends, or make new ones!
With the average cost of a class here being
about $20 a week, we're sure you would agree that that
is a fair and more than reasonable
price to pay for helping to give your
children a big edge in life!
CALL IMMEDIATELY
to take advantage of our class offerings and have
your child start reaping the benefits of gymnastics
TODAY!
