GYMDAWG JIVE #11 5-2-11 FINAL LEVEL 2-3-4

Our competitive seasons ended with several long sessions this past weekend. Overall, our gymnasts combined for 19 AWARDS as all 6 girls picked up at least 2 MEDALS.

The Level 2’s were led in scoring by MARGAUX who posted a 33.3 in her All-Around. Her highlights were on Floor where she scored a 9 and had a 5TH PLACE finish there while her 8.7 on Vault gave her the 8TH PLACE spot on that event.

BRI was just behind her tallying a 33.325 total for the day. She had a 6TH PLACE medal on Vault with a 8.75 score, while her PERSONAL BEST 9.025 was good enough for the THIRD PLACE finish on Floor exercise.

Hats off to both girls for making it to States and performing the way that they did as each athlete had her own respective share of illness and injury to work thru just to get to this final weekend.

HALEY was our only Level 3 competitor and had a real nice day with an 8TH PLACE award on Vault, an impressive 5TH PLACE in the All-Around where she went 33.250, and a 3RD PLACE medal on Floor where she too had a PERSONAL BEST scoring with an 8.775. On Beam, well, the kid just continues to “STICK IT”, as she wrapped up this competitive season nailing every single one of her Beam routines and now has run her streak to 8 CONSECUTIVE STUCK ROUTINES going back into last season! It’s gotta be the UGGS, just has to be…

For the Level 4 team MEG finished up her season coming back in the last 2 events of her session with a pair of 6TH PLACE finishes on Bars and on Vault where she posted an 8.325.

The “KASHLIE” duo ended the day in fine fashion on their final event of the competition as both KYLIE and ASHLEY STUCK Beam with a pair of nice performances! It was the third time each of them have nailed Beam this season!

ASH totaled 31.625 which was good enough for 8TH in her All-Around, while she picked up an 8TH on Beam, 7TH on Floor, and a 5TH PLACE Medal on Vault with a 8.375 score.

KYLIE tied her PERSONAL BEST in the All-Around with a 32.4 total which won her the 4TH PLACE Award there. She also received a 9TH on Bars, a 7TH on Vault, a 5TH on Floor, and the 3RD PLACE spot on Beam. The Level 4 Team finished up 9TH in the Team Standings for this Level.

COACH KIM was proud of all of the girls’ efforts, and is already planning for bigger and better skills to be worked on for next season!

THANK YOUS to LAURA and KELSEY who came to support their teammates and also to BRI who came out at the crack of dawn Sunday to give support as well after competing the previous day.

 GO DAWGS! BE EXTREME!

Gymdawg Jive #10 4-12-11

Final regular season competition before States saw 7 of our gymnasts in action in a home meet at our Dawghouse.

The Level 4 team was lead in scoring by KYLIE with a 32.3 All-Around, which just missed a PERSONAL BEST for her there. She had a “Stuck” Beam which won her the 1ST PLACE AWARD on that event. Also just missing out on CAREER HIGHS were LIV on Floor and ASHLEY on Vault, while MEG had her HIGHEST Beam Score of this season. All 4 of the girls had at least 1 CONTRIBUTING TEAM SCORE towards the team total.

HALEY continued her amazing streak on Beam, with her FIFTH CONSECUTIVE STUCK routine this year, and now has “STUCK” 7 straight routines going back into last season! Must be the Uggs…

MARGAUX made it 7 out of 7 gymnasts to make it to States with a 34.3 total in her All-Around, as her previous high score lasted only a week as she has put together 2 impressive meets on back-to-back weekends in qualifying for States. Her Floor score was the third time this year that she scored a 9 on that event.

Leading scorer for the day was BRI, who in the All-Around scored a 34.35, which just missed being a CAREER BEST. She had the third of our “STUCK” beam events for the day as she posted a 9 there for the second time this season. Amazingly, BRI was just coming off knee surgery about a month ago and had only been back at full practice for only 3 days. Her toughness, desire, and heart couldn’t be any more evident with the type of effort she put forth Sunday.

BRI, MARGAUX, HALEY, MEG, KYLIE, ASHLEY, and COURTNEY, (who scratched this meet due to illness), will all have one more competition this season with the upcoming State Championships held Saturday April 30th and Sunday May 1st.

Lots of APPRECIATION to the parents, friends, and family who volunteered their time to help out. TEAM girls, LAURA, MEG L, GABBY D, GABBY C, RACHEL, and KELSEY, (multitasking monster), were awesome with their support and assistance for the day. While it was great to see some of the other coaches, PENNY, NATALIE, and JUSTIN come out and give support to not only the team girls, but also to COACHES KIM and OLIVIA as well. THANK YOU ALL as we could not do these things without you!

GO DAWGS! BE EXTREME!

Gymdawg Jive #9 4-4-11

This will be sort of a semi-double offering here, with team news from the past 2 weekends of action.

All of the Level 2, 3, and 4 girls were in competition a couple of weeks ago and our Level 4 squad was able to capture the 3RD PLACE TEAM Trophy for that event.

Leading the 4’s was ASHLEY who totaled a 30.7 in her All-Around which gave her the 1ST PLACE Medal there. ASH also WON Floor, while adding a couple of 3RD PLACE finishes on both Vault and Bars.

KYLIE was right behind her with a 30.5 final which was good enough for 2ND in the All-Around. She also had another 2ND PLACE on Beam and a 1ST PLACE Award on Vault.

ALLINA chipped in with 3 CONTRIBUTING TEAM SCORES as she has extended her season at Level 4 in a most noteworthy and respectable fashion.

MEGAN had the only PERSONAL BEST on the day, but it was a big one, as she put up an 8.9 in her floor routine which WON her the 1ST PLACE Medal on that event and topping her previous high score there by half a point.

For the Level 2 and 3’s, HALEY “STUCK” Beam again, for the fourth consecutive meet in a row! She WON that event, while also having 3 additional 1ST PLACE Medals on Vault, Floor, and her All-Around.

COURTNEY led all scorers at this meet with a 33.5 All-Around, giving her a sweep of 1STs for the competition.

MARGAUX, well, let’s just say that the meet was in essence a “warmup” event for her competition this past weekend, where she had 2 PERSONAL BESTS and 5, Top-6 Awards in achieving her first score necessary for States. Her CAREER HIGHS came on Bars and in her All-Around where she totaled a 34.15. Given the results from the previous week, her efforts on Saturday night showed a lot of character and heart from one of our team’s leaders, as COACH KIM was most proud of someone she has coached for over 12 years.

The last regular season event of the year before States is in our DAWGHOUSE this Sunday, April 10th.

BE EXTREME! GO DAWGS!

Gymdawg Jive #8 2-27-11

This past Sunday our Level 2, 3, and 4 gymnasts were in action in a home meet held in our DAWGHOUSE. Overall, the girls fared quite well, with 13 PERSONAL BESTS and 40 TOP 5 finishes, highlighted by 17 FIRST PLACE RIBBONS won.

The Level 4 squad had their HIGHEST TEAM SCORE in the past 2 seasons, posting a 98.05 total, besting this year’s previous high by 2.75 points!

OLIVIA, ALLINA, and RACHEL were extending their seasons after competing in this season’s LEVEL 5 STATE event. OLIVIA had a total of 5, TOP 4 AWARDS, with her Vault giving her the SECOND PLACE ribbon there. ALLINA went back to her usual ways on Beam, with a STUCK ROUTINE on that apparatus, the fourth time she has done so this year, while she added a PERSONAL BEST on Bars. RACHEL tied for the Level 4 HIGH SCORE with a 32.2 in her All-Around. That score as well as her Bars gave her 2 FIRST PLACE awards.

ASHLEY also scored a 32.2 in leading the Level 4 TEAM, and that tied her All-Around CAREER HIGH. ASH had another STUCK routine on Beam, her second in 3 meets this season, while she also had a PERSONAL BEST on Bars, in a very determined effort on that event. KYLIE had a CAREER BEST also on Bars, while her 8.55 on Vault WON her the FIRST PLACE spot there. MEG had 3 PERSONAL HIGHS with her scores on Floor, Bars, and in her All-Around, where she went 32.05. That total gives MEG both her second STATE SCORE, as well as her second qualifying score for Level 3.

At Level 3, HALEY had her biggest competition of the season, not only on the gym floor, but behind the scenes as well. As she stepped up in a big way with her leadership skills as veteran teammates MARGAUX was a scratch due to illness, while BRI got hurt in warm-up. HALEY had CAREER BESTS on Bars and in her All-Around where she posted a 33.7, which gives her, her second Level 2 score needed for advancement. She too, had a STUCK Beam routine, which was one of her 3 FIRSTS for the day.

Having the last of our STUCK routines on Beam was COURTNEY, who was the overall score leader for all 3 teams. COURT, our lone Level 2 competing, put up a huge 35.4 total, the highest score of the meet, which gives her both a LEVEL 1 score, while also qualifying her into Level 2 STATES. She added 4 FIRSTS to her day’s accomplishments.

COACHES KIM and OLIVIA were more than pleased with the overall results and big efforts of all of our girls. There is still plenty of room for improvement with STATES just under 2 months away.

A huge thank you goes out to all the helpers, volunteers, friends, family, and PARENTS who contributed their time and efforts towards the event, before, during, and after! KELSEY, GABBY D, MEG L, LAURA, and MARGAUX were awesome in their assistance with the meet and their support for their teammates. BRI coming back to watch the end of the competition on crutches speaks volumes about how she feels about her fellow GYMDAWGS. Good thoughts her way as hopefully her injury is not serious.

BE EXTREME! GO DAWGS!

GYMDAWG JIVE # 7 2-15-11 FINAL Level 5-6

The Level 5-6 season concluded this past weekend with the annual STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS, where this year over 350 gymnasts participated representing 50+ clubs from throughout the state.

There were plenty of highlights from the 3 days for our 8 competing GYMDAWGS, including a couple of STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS, 13 TOP 10 Medals, and 8 PERSONAL BESTS.

The Level 6s were paced by GABBY C. who scored a 28.025 in her All-Around, which was one of her 3 CAREER HIGHS for the day. Her total score was good enough for a 6th PLACE MEDAL in the All-Around, while she was 7th on Floor, and 9th on Beam, where she had a STUCK routine there. Her Beam score was another PERSONAL BEST for her, as was her Vault, where her 8.1 won her the STATE CHAMPIONSHIP on that event! GABBY ended her Level 6 season by improving her All-Around score for the 4th consecutive time.

GABBY D. concluded her first year competing in fine fashion, with 2 PERSONAL BESTS; on vault where she won the 6th PLACE AWARD, and on Beam, with a gorgeous STUCK routine that gave her the 4th PLACE MEDAL on that apparatus. GABBY was competing in only the 5th meet of her lifetime, and interesting enough, the Beam performance that she displayed was the HIGHEST BEAM score for either of our teams during the entire weekend! Not too shabby for a 7-year old!

Another of our first year gymnasts who competed at States was MEG L who was unfortunately stuck in a killer age-group. She held her own though, just missing out on a PERSONAL BEST on Floor, while having 2 CONTRIBUTING TEAM SCORES with her totals on Bars and on Floor.

LAURA had CONTRIBUTING SCORES in all 4 events, while she posted a CAREER HIGH on Vault. Her effort there was rewarded with the 9th PLACE MEDAL on that event. LAURA’s Vault score also helped the Level 6s to have their HIGHEST EVENT score that they have had this season on that apparatus.

For the Level 5 team, OLIVIA had a PERSONAL BEST on Vault with a big 8.4 score, which was not only good enough for the 2nd PLACE AWARD on the event, but was also the HIGHEST Vault total for either of our squads during the 3 days.

KELSEY, our youngest Level 5, was in the early Sunday morning session, the biggest of the weekend, also had a CAREER BEST on Vault as well, while she was awarded the 9TH PLACE MEDAL there. She had 2 CONTRIBUTING TEAM scores towards the team total.

ALLINA had 3 scores that CONTRIBUTED to the TEAM TOTAL. ALLINA has been one of our top Beam workers this season, and her performance on that apparatus was good enough for her to capture the 9th PLACE AWARD on the event.

Finishing out the competition and saying bye-bye to Level 5 in a huge way was RACHEL, who came to STATES very focused and determined to have successes, after her season was ruined last year by injury.  And she was not to be denied on this day as she was the top SCORER for our teams, with a 5th PLACE on Vault, a 2ND PLACE MEDAL on Floor, and TWO STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS; on Bars, and more importantly, in the All-Around. While she didn’t place on Beam, she did have a STUCK routine that event, which was by far, her top effort on that event this season.

The Level 5s just missed out on a TEAM trophy, as they were only 2 tenths away from 6th place, 2 tenths… But given the competition, 7th PLACE and being a TOP 10 SCHOOL is something we here at EXTREME can be proud of.

For COACH KIM, the individual STATE CHAMPIONS gives her an even 50 that she has now coached in her JOGA career. Congratulations go out to our athletes and our team COACHES; KIM, OLIVIA, PENNY, JUSTIN, and KATE, for their combined efforts in making this Level 5-6 season a successful one.

THANK YOUS go to KYLIE, ASHLEY, and BRI, who did not compete but stayed throughout the long weekend to support their teammates. And to those kids who did compete and still stayed; much gratitude and pride for your fellowship and camaraderie.

APPRECIATION also to the parents that stayed for multiple sessions over the 3 days, and more importantly, for your support for what we do here throughout the year.

Level 2, 3, & 4s are up next, in our DAWGHOUSE in a couple of weeks.

BE EXTREME! GO DAWGS!

GYMDAWG JIVE #6 1-25-11

This past weekend saw all of our gymnasts compete in the 3 events that were held at Extreme on Saturday and Sunday. For the 2 days, our GYMDAWGS accumulated 17 PERSONAL BESTS, 18 FIRST PLACE ribbons, and 56 TOP 3 places. While each and every gymnast had a contributing TEAM SCORE towards their respective totals.

For the Level 5 and 6 TEAMS, it was the regular season finale prior to States weekend, upcoming in February. Leading the Level 6 squad was GABBY C. with a 28 All-Around, which was a PERSONAL BEST for her. She also had a CAREER HIGH on Bars as well, while pacing the group with 3 FIRSTS. ABBIE had 2 contributing TEAM SCORES and a FIRST PLACE award on Vault. LAURA had PERSONAL BESTS on Bars and Floor, while just missing out on one with her overall total. MEG L. also had a CAREER BEST on Bars, while tying for her HIGH on Beam, where she had a STUCK routine; her second fall-less effort on that event in the past 2 meets. Having 3 PERSONAL BESTS for the day was GABBY D. as she put up HIGHS on Beam, Bars, and her All-Around, which not only gave her a Level 5 score, but also marked the 4th consecutive meet where she improved her All-Around total.

RACHEL was HIGH-SCORER for the 5s with a 31.45 All-around, which gave her the last of 3 FIRST PLACE ribbons for the event. She too had a CAREER BEST on Bars, as seemingly this was the strong apparatus for our girls this weekend. OLIVIA had a FIRST on Beam and her HIGHEST SCORE for her competitive career on Bars as well. ALLINA too, liked the Uneven Bars, with a PERSONAL BEST there. KELSEY just missed on a CAREER BEST on Vault, but nevertheless, won the FIRST PLACE award on that event.

ASHLEY led the Level 4 TEAM with a 32.05, which gave her, her second score necessary for STATES, while also achieving the second score needed to move up top Level 3. ASH had 2 PERSONAL BESTS, on Vault and Bars, where she won FIRST PLACE . KYLIE also got both of her scores as well, getting to States and Level 3 for next season with a 31.9 All-Around. She tied a PERSONAL BEST on Vault, where her effort there awarded her the FIRST PLACE spot. MEG H. had a CAREER BEST on Bars, and she too, scored enough to qualify for STATES, while also getting the first of 2 scores necessary for Level 3.

HALEY got her second STATE score for Level 3 and posted 3 FIRSTS for her efforts. HALEY had a PERSONAL HIGH event score on Bars, while she had a STUCK Beam routine. That’s 2 meets and 2 stuck routines on that apparatus for her so far this season. Leading the Level 2s in scoring was COURTNEY, who put up a 33.9 for her first competition with our club. She also STUCK Beam, while winning 2 FIRSTS, on Vault and her All-Around, which gives her the first of 2 scores needed for STATES. MARGAUX had a CAREER BEST on Bars while taking FIRST PLACE on Floor exercise. Getting her second STATE score for Level 2 was BRI, who scored a 33.5 in her All-Around. She had a PERSONAL BEST on Uneven Bars as well, making it 12 of 16 gymnasts who had CAREER HIGH SCORES on that event.

And while that is exciting, the enthusiasm is tempered somewhat by the Beam results, where too many falls were counted and several of our competitors had unusually mediocre efforts on that apparatus. That is where improvement really needs to come from, as we are strong on Vault, we’re coming along on Bars, while we always rock Floor. COACHES KIM and OLIVIA will be looking to use these next 3 weeks before Level 5/6 STATES to have our DAWGS ready for what is expected to be their best efforts of the year!

THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO HELPED US AND VOLUNTEERED THEIR TIME THIS PAST WEEKEND! WE LOVE YOU GUYS!

GO DAWGS! BE EXTREME!

GYMDAWG JIVE #5 1-17-11

First meet of the year for our Level 2, 3, and 4 TEAMS this past Sunday; and the girls made missing the BEARS game worthwhile as they put up some very impressive efforts.

Combined, our DAWGS had 26 TOP 3 PLACES, including 7 FIRSTS, as well as 14 PERSONAL BESTS for the meet. In addition, the Level 4 team topped last year’s total high score by 1.3 points in scoring a 95.3!

Right from the get-go, ASHLEY set the mood for the competition by STICKING her Beam routine, the first of 4 gymnasts to do so for the day. ASH had 3 PERSONAL BESTS; on Bars, All-Around, and on Floor, where she scored a 9 in WINNING FIRST PLACE on that event! After her routine, the judge was overheard to say, “We have not had a performance with such personality this weekend!” ASHLEY’s 32.2 total for the event gives her the first of 2 scores needed for both STATES and Level 3.

Also picking up a Level 3 score and a STATE score was KYLIE, who had 4 CAREER BESTS for the competition. She too, STUCK Beam, while taking FIRST PLACE Ribbons on that event, Vault, and her All-Around, where she led the Level 4s with a 32.4 total.

MEG had 2 PERSONAL BESTS on Floor, and on Bars, where her determination was most evident. MEG’s total score also gives her, her first STATE total needed as well.

MARGAUX had 2 TOP 3 Awards and just missed out on CAREER HIGHS on Bars and Floor. Her routine on the latter event gave her SECOND PLACE in a tough age group.

HALEY got the first of her scores needed for Level 2 and also her first of 2 totals needed for Level 3 STATES with a CAREER BEST 33.35 All-Around. She also had PBs on Floor and on Beam where she had the third STUCK routine of the meet for our club.

Having our school’s highest score of the day was BRI who totaled a huge 34.75. That lofty total is EXTREME’S highest All-Around score since 2005! In addition to BRI’s PERSONAL BEST in her All-Around, she also had a CAREER HIGH on Beam where she STUCK her routine in posting a 9.15 on that event. Most impressive though was her stick-to-itiveness during Bars where she overcame a fall, and still performed her GIANT for the first time in competition! BRI has her first STATE score necessary now, while she just missed out on a Level 1 total!

Coaches KIM and OLIVIA were proud and pleased of all of the girl’s efforts, especially considering this was our season-opener. Still, there remains, as always, things that can be tightened up and corrected and improved upon. But overall, this was a meet that our STAFF can be very happy about and build bigger and better things off of.

Kudos to non-competing GYMDAWGS as KELSEY, LIV, ALLINA, LAURA, and ABBIE all made the trip to come out and support their TEAMMATES-THANKS GUYS!

GO DAWGS! BE EXTREME!

2010-11 Gymdawg Jive #4 122010

Gigantic efforts from our Level 5 and 6 girls this past Sunday in our Dawghouse, as there were no less than 32 PERSONAL BESTS from our 9 gymnasts. EACH girl had a CAREER HIGH in her All-Around, while every one of them had at least 1, TOP 3 FINISH! The teams set SEASON HIGHS on ALL 4 events and posted their highest TOTAL TEAM SCORES of the year; with each gymnast having 1 or more contributing scores towards the team’s respective totals!

The Level 5s were paced by RACHEL, who has been a monster gymnast for us all season long. RACHEL missed out on going to Level 5 States last year due to a broken back and now she seems intent on reaping as much glory at this level as possible! Her 33.3 was easily the meet’s highest total score and placed her FIRST in the All-Around, while it was one of her 5 PERSONAL BESTS. She has now her first qualifying score for Level 2, after already fulfilling her requirements at Levels 4 and 3. She is going to be fun to watch at STATES!

Having the meet’s HIGHEST INDIVIDUAL EVENT Score was ALLINA, who once again STUCK her Beam routine and came away with a huge 8.65 tally, and a FIRST PLACE ribbon on that apparatus. In 4 meets this season, ALLINA has fallen only once on Beam. On the day, she had 4 CAREER HIGHS with her All-Around 31.9 gave her the first of 2 qualifying scores for Level 3.

KELSEY had 2 PERSONAL BESTS including her first ever 8 on Vault, while her Floor Exercise was perhaps the best it has been all year long. Her 29 OVERALL score gives her the first score necessary for Level 4.

Having 4 CAREER HIGHS including the first 8s on a couple of events, OLIVIA totaled 31.1 in her All-Around which gets her to Level 4 and gives her a Level 3 score as well.

The Level 5 girls totaled a 96.35 team score which bested their previous TEAM HIGH by almost 4.5 points!

Topping their prior high TEAM Score by over 3 points were the Level 6s who also had some great efforts on the day.

GABBY C. led the girls in scoring with a 27.95, which was good enough for FIRST PLACE in the All-Around and one of her 3 PERSONAL BESTS for the meet.

Right behind her at 27.65 was ABBIE, who got her second qualifying score for Level 5. ABBIE had one of our 4 STUCK Beam routines for the day and her effort there was one of her 5 PERSONAL BESTS.

LAURA had 3 CAREER HIGHS that included her All-Around where she improved her total score by almost a full point!

Also STICKING Beam was Gabby D, who got one of her 3 PERSONAL BESTS on that event while increasing her prior high there by just about a point.

The last of our STUCK Beams came from MEG, whose routine was good enough there to reward her with the FIRST PLACE medal on that event. MEG had 3 CAREER BESTS for the day and just missed out on a Level 5 score by a tenth!

The TEAMS are progressing very nicely at this point as COACHES KIM and OLIVIA work the girls towards peaking at that right time in February by correcting those little things that can make a huge difference between being good and REALLY GOOD!

THANK YOUS go out to all the PARENTS, FAMILY, SIBLINGS, FRIENDS, TEAMMATES, and COMPETITORS who helped set up and clean up afterwards. We could not do these types of things without you. SPECIAL THANKS go to MEG, KYLIE, MARGAUX, BRI, and ASH who were there supporting their teammates, and to former Gymdawg KATIE who also was there to give us big smiles seeing her again.

BE WELL, BE SAFE, BE EXTREME! HAPPY HOLIDAYS! GO DAWGS!

2010-11 Gymdawg Jive # 3 120810

Pretty solid efforts out of all of our girls this past Sunday, as the Level 5 and 6 squads had their 3rd meets of this season.

The 5s had an all around terrific team effort in capturing the event’s THIRD PLACE TEAM Trophy. Our 4 gymnasts were up against some very strong competition, in terms of both size of the opposing squads and their age levels.

All 4 girls had CONTRIBUTING TEAM SCORES towards their 90.6 total.

LIV just missed out on a couple of PERSONAL BESTS and her 28.85 total was only a shade below the goal of 29 that she had for this competition.

ALLINA unfortunately had her first fall on Balance Beam this year in 3 meets, but her effort on that event was good enough to win her the FOURTH PLACE Medal there.

KELSEY had 3, TOP 7 PLACES for the day, and she too was just tenths away from CAREER HIGHS.

Topping the scoring for the team was RACHEL with a 31.3 total score, which was good enough for the THIRD PLACE Medal in the All-Around. RACHEL also had a FIFTH and SECOND PLACE Award on Floor and Bars respectfully. Technically, she has now scored out of this Level with her second Level 3 score this season.

The Level 6 team enjoyed a lot of highlights that included their highest team score of the season, where each of the 5 girls had CONTRIBUTING SCORES, 11 PERSONAL BESTS, 20, TOP 7 PLACES, 2 STUCK BEAM Routines, and most importantly, enough scoring from 2 of our gymnasts to make it 5 out 5 Level 6s now going to STATES!

GABBY C led the squad in scoring in posting a 27.1 in her All-Around. She won FIRST PLACE on Vault, while she had a PERSONAL BEST on Beam with a very nice STUCK ROUTINE. GABBY added 2 THIRDS and a FOURTH PLACE finish on her day.

LAURA had a CAREER HIGH on Floor, where her 7.5 won her the FIRST PLACE Medal there. She had 4, TOP 7 spots for the meet as well.

GABBY D put up her 2nd STATE Score in only her 2nd meet of her career. She had PERSONAL BESTS on Vault and her All-Around, while collecting a SECOND and 2 THIRD PLACE MEDALS.

MEG had 3 PERSONAL BESTS, on Beam, Floor, and in her All-Around, where she too, totaled enough to qualify for STATES. MEG also took home 3, TOP 7 Ribbons from this competition.

Having 4 CAREER HIGHS was ABBIE, who had one of the more impressive efforts for the meet. ABBIE won FIRSTS on Vault and on Floor with 2 of her PERSONAL BESTS, while getting SECOND PLACE Medals on Bars with another CAREER BEST and on Beam with a STUCK ROUTINE. Her 26.15 was not only a PB, but also gives her the 1st of 2 qualifying scores for Level 5.

All in all, it was a job well-done by all 9 of our competitors. With 2 regular season meets to go, COACHES KIM and OLIVIA will be looking for the girls to make improvements in their performances while fixing those little things that can take tenths away.

THANK YOUS go to ASHLEY and KYLIE who came out to support their teammates.  With a SHOUT OUT going also to KAYLA, one of our Pre-Teamers, who came to watch our GYMDAWGS in competition for the first time.

BE EXTREME! GO DAWGS!

2010-11 Gymdawg Jive #2 112210

Second meet of the season came this past Sunday for our Level 5 and 6 squads and the results offered much optimism and excitement as the teams combined for 14 PERSONAL BESTS, 8 STATE SCORES, and 17 FIRST PLACE AWARDS.

For the Level 6s, LAURA and GABBY C tied in leading the team in the All-Around with scores totaling 26.8. LAURA had 5 TOP 3 MEDALS including FIRST PLACE with STUCK Beam routine and a CAREER BEST score there of 7.3. GABBY had 2 PERSONAL BESTS on Bars and Floor where she had a FIRST PLACE finish amongst her 5, TOP 2 places. GABBY and LAURA took FIRST and SECOND respectfully in their All-Around. BOTH girls got their second STATE score as well as their second qualifying score needed for Level 5.

MEG had 2 CAREER BESTS on Beam and Floor where she improved her score by almost a full point, while she captured 5 TOP 4 finishes with a highlight being her THIRD PLACE on Bars.

ABBIE had 3 CONTRIBUTING TEAM scores in winning 4 FIRSTS and a SECOND for the meet, and she too has now qualified for STATES.

GABBY D, in the first meet of her life came away with a STATE score, a CONTRIBUTING TEAM score, and a FIRST PLACE MEDAL on Vault. Not a bad beginning for our youngest competitor who just turned 7 over the summer!

At Level 5, KELSEY got her second score for STATES on a day where she totaled 5 TOP 2 AWARDS and 2 PERSONAL BESTS which came on Floor and Beam. There she had a great, STUCK routine which rewarded her with the FIRST PLACE MEDAL on that event.

OLIVIA had set a goal of 29 before the meet and she hit that mark and a little more in totaling 29.35 in her All-Around. That score gets her to STATES and was a CAREER BEST, while it also gives her a Level 4 score as well. Her Bar routine too, was a CAREER HIGH and LIV finished with 5 TOP 4 places on the day.

For the second meet in a row, ALLINA STUCK her Beam which highlighted her efforts where she not only made it to STATES with her second score necessary, but also got her Level 4 qualifier as well. ALLINA had TOP 5 finishes on all 4 events and in her All-Around, with a PERSONAL BEST on Bars.

Leading the team with a big and beefy 32.25 total score was RACHEL, who swept the board with 5 FIRSTS and 4 CAREER HIGHS. Her All-Around was the top score of the meet by over 2 and a half points and she now qualifies for STATES and for Level 4; and, has a Level 3 score now as well!

COACHES KIM and OLIVIA were most proud of all of the girls and their combined efforts on the day. The teams have a lot of potential and watching these girls have the successes that they have had, even at this early stage of the seasons, gives all of us cause for much optimism.

THANK YOUS go to the PARENTS, FAMILY, and FRIENDS who helped with the event, and to BRI, MARGAUX, HALEY, ASHLEY, MEGAN, and KYLIE who came to support their teammates and volunteered their time to help out. SPECIAL shout outs to ALI, one of our pre-teamers who came to watch and then wound up helping out, and also to one of our fallen gymnasts, MADDY, who got hurt in her high school season and is scheduled for surgery this week, but still wanted to be there for our home opener. You are most missed more than we can say and we will have good thoughts your way this week, hoping for a healthy and speedy recovery.

GO DAWGS! BE EXTREME!

GYMDAWG JIVE #1 2010-11 Season

This past Sunday was the opening meet of this JOGA campaign for our Level 5 and 6 girls, while it was the first meet ever for one of gymnasts. And overall, we were quite pleased with the results as ALL 8 girls who competed received their first QUALIFYING SCORE for their respective States, and each girl had at least one CONTRIBUTING TEAM SCORE towards the team totals. All told there were 20 PERSONAL BESTS and 19 TOP 5 finishes.

Leading the Level 6s was GABBY C who put up a career best 27.5 in the All-Around. That score gives her the first of 2 scores necessary for Level 5. She added PERSONAL BESTS as well on Beam, Bars, and on Vault where her 8.0 was good enough for the 2ND PLACE AWARD on that event.

Also achieving a Level 5 score was LAURA, who posted a 26.95 which also was a CAREER BEST for her in the All-Around. LAURA’S Floor routine had lots of personality and she was AWARDED the 3RD PLACE MEDAL there for her performance. Her PERSONAL BESTS also came on Vault, Bars, and Beam.

ABBIE chipped in with CAREER HIGHS on Bars and Vault while MEG just missed out on medaling in the first meet of her life; with both girls combining for 4 CONTRIBUTING TEAM scores for the event. ABBIE had the squad’s only STUCK Beam routine.

The team missed GABBY D who was to compete for the first time but illness forced her to scratch.

The Level 5 team bested last year’s team totals on Vault and Bars, while their 90.2 Final Score also was a TEAM BEST, while the 5s just missed out on a trophy by only tenths.

The squad was led by RACHEL who posted a 30.7 total score which was good enough for 2ND PLACE in the All-Around. RACHEL had 1ST PLACE MEDALS on Vault and Bars where her 7.65 was the meet’s HIGH SCORE for the day on that event. Her final tally gives RACHEL her first Level 4 score.

ALLINA also busted 30 in her All-Around and she too gets a Level 4 score with her 30.45 total. It was 1 of 3 PERSONAL BESTS for her which included Vault and Floor as well. ALLINA had a STUCK BEAM routine and her 7.85 score there gave her the 1ST PLACE AWARD on that apparatus.

KELSEY had 4 PERSONAL BESTS that included her All-Around, Vault, Bars, and Floor where her routine there gave her a 3RD PLACE MEDAL.

OLIVIA improved her CAREER BEST in her All-Around by over a point while she added 2 more PERSONAL BESTS on Floor and Bars.

Next meet is in our DAWGHOUSE this Sunday and Coaches KIM and OLIVIA will be expecting significant improvements from the girls after getting the opener out of the way.

Thank Yous go to ASHLEY and KYLIE who made the trip to support their teammates.

GO DAWGS! BE EXTREME!

GYMDAWG JIVE Final 2009 10 Season Level 3-4 States

This past weekend saw the competition finale for 6 of our team girls up in Edison with the JOGA State Championships on Saturday and Sunday.

Combined over the 2 days, our gymnasts accumulated 8 PERSONAL BESTS, 9 Top-10 MEDALS, 3 TEAM SEASON HIGH EVENT SCORES, and the 9th PLACE TEAM AWARD for Level 3.

Starting the weekend off were MEG and ALYSSA, in the gigantic 13-14 Age group for Level 4.

ALYSSA had 3 PERSONAL BESTS; on Beam, Bars, and in her ALL-AROUND. Given the fact that she hasn’t competed since January due to injury, it’s most impressive that she led all of our gymnasts in CAREER HIGHS this weekend. ALYSSA just missed out being on the podium by a quarter of a tenth with her Floor routine which was good enough for a SEASON HIGH score there.

MEG had 2 PERSONAL BESTS for the day, with hers coming on Bars and also in her ALL-AROUND. MEG’S effort on the Uneven Bars was rewarded with the 7th PLACE MEDAL on that event.

Finishing up for the Level 4s on Sunday was KIM, who had a SEASON HIGH event score on Beam, where she narrowly missed medalling, while also just missing out on a career high by a half a tenth.

The TEAM score the 3 girls combined for was the second highest score they have had all season long while they accumulated enough points on both Bars and Beam to have SEASON TEAM HIGH SCORES on those events.

For the Level 3s, their 99.250 TEAM SCORE placed them 9th in the State, which is a fairly significant accomplishment; given the size of the schools and number of teams at this Level we were competing against with just our 3 gymnasts! It also was the Team’s 2nd HIGHEST total of this season.

Leading the Team was BRIANNA with a 33.3 total score. It was the third straight time she had topped the 33 mark this season and that score enabled her to PLACE 8TH in the ALL-AROUND. BRI had a PERSONAL BEST and 10TH PLACE MEDAL on Bars, where given the start value, there were little if any deductions. On Floor she PLACED 6TH, while her Tsuk on Vault WON her THIRD PLACE on that event.

MARGAUX also busted the 33 mark in scoring 33.175 which was good enough for 10TH PLACE in the ALL-AROUND. She too, as was the theme for the day, had a CAREER HIGH on Bars. MARGAUX WON the 8TH PLACE AWARD on Vault, while her Floor captured the 4TH PLACE MEDAL there.

HALEY nailed a great Bar routine which gave her a PERSONAL BEST score also on that apparatus. Her Beam was awesome and tight, as she “STUCK” her routine for the second straight meet. The routine enabled HALEY to WIN the 10TH PLACE AWARD on that event.

We are very proud of their efforts, not only at States, but this entire year. In looking back not only where the girls started this season, but going back to last year’s States, these 6 girls raised their total All-Around scores a combined 11.82 points; with increases ranging from 1.23 points all the way up to a +2.75 points!

And afterwards, to hear them talk with KIM about goals and things they want to get started on for NEXT YEAR, that enthusiasm is well, just EXTREME!

THANKS YOUS go to team girls, TORI, MADDY, and CASSIDY, who came out to support their teammates and friends throughout the weekend.

GO DAWGS!

GYMDAWG JIVE 8 041210

This past Sunday, our school hosted the biggest meet in Extreme Gymnastics history as 36 gymnasts and 9 clubs competed in our Dawghouse in what was the JOGA regular season finale for this year.

And after 2 GREAT weeks of practices, there was a feeling amongst our coaches that our girls would come out rockin’; and they certainly did not disappoint as the 6 gymnasts combined for 24 TOP 3 medals and 9 PERSONAL BESTS individually.

Team-wise, the Level 4’s had their season’s HIGHEST EVENT SCORE on Vault, while tying their high mark on Beam.

KIM had her highest Beam score this year, and while it wasn’t reflective in her actual score, KIM’S Floor routine was probably the best it has been all season; as Sunday’s effort featured improved, powerful tumbling, combined with her always pleasing dance-presentation.

KYLIE started this year competing back in November and ended her 8-meet year with her third consecutive meet topping the 30 point mark. Impressive in that achievement is the fact that those scores have come in her 3 toughest meets this year; Level 5 States, and then her 2 meets at Level 4. Sunday she had a BIG CAREER BEST on Bars with her first 7 score ever on that event.

MEG continues to get stronger as the season continues, as she posted her highest All-around total this year at 30.85, just missing out on a Level 3 score. MEG had a huge vault that awarded her the 1ST Place Trophy there, while also giving her a PERSONAL BEST there as she tallied an 8.55 on that apparatus.

For the Level 3’s, statements were certainly made on Sunday, as our 3 girls put up the HIGHEST TEAM SCORE since our 2005’06 season as they topped the century mark in totaling a 100.5 score! In doing so, they had event highs for the year on Vault, Bars, and Beam.

MARGAUX achieved her 2nd QUALIFYING SCORE needed for Level 2 as she hit the 33 mark in her All-Around which was just 2 tenths off of her season high. MARGAUX took 1ST Place Medals on Floor and on Vault, where she just missed a CAREER BEST there.

HALEY was in need of one more score to get to States and from the start it was very evident that she was on a mission and would not leave any doubt in the hands of the judges. She had PERSONAL BESTS on Vault and on Beam, where she had a “sick”, “stuck” routine in scoring an 8.85 there! HALEY’S 33.2 All-Around won her 1ST Place in her age-group and was too, a CAREER HIGH. That total gets her to Level 3 States and also gives her the first QUALIFYING SCORE for Level 2.

Leading our Team and putting up the HIGHEST SCORE for the entire competition was BRIANNA, who had a monstrous meet scoring a 34.3 in her All-Around! That PERSONAL BEST was the topper on a day where she also had CAREER BESTS on Beam and Vault where she scored a 9.2 on that event! BRI tied her PERSONAL HIGHS on Bars and Floor as she had 1ST Place Awards across the board. It should be noted, her overall score was the HIGHEST All-Around score here at Extreme since again, the aforementioned 2005’06 season.

Next up for BRIANNA, HALEY, MARGAUX, MEG, KIM, and ALYSSA, who has been injured, will be Level 3 and 4 States. Our coaching staff will look to continue with this positive momentum and make the necessary corrections and improvements so that the girls will be peaking at States.

THANK YOUS as always, to the TEAM girls who came out to support their teammates and help with the meet, both before and afterwards. Also THANKS to the parents, family and friends who volunteered their assistance.

Just a GREAT EFFORT by EVERYONE! GO DAWGS! BE EXTREME!

2010 GYMDAWG JIVE 7

This past Sunday our Extreme Teams were involved in 2 JOGA competitions, as our Level 4 and 3 squads were both in action. And the 7 girls certainly came to play as our teams combined for 19 PERSONAL BESTS, 8 High Event Scores for the year, including both team All-Arounds, 14 Top 3 Individual awards, 5 1st Place Medals, a 3rd Place Team Trophy, the 2 highest individual scores of both meets, and, a new Extreme Gymnastics school record on Balance Beam!

The Level 4’s started the day off, finishing in 6th Place amongst the 13 teams entered in the event as they totaled 94 points, which was a high score for the 4s this season.

KIM led the squad in scoring, with a 32 All-Around; 1 of her 2 PERSONAL BESTS on the day and, 1 of her 2 FIRST PLACE MEDALS as well. She also had a CAREER BEST and FIRST PLACE on Uneven Bars. On this event, she established the HIGH SCORE on Bars for all of our teams this season. With her effort, KIM now has her second QUALIFYING SCORE for the next Level.

MEG added 2 PERSONAL BESTS as well, with hers coming on Floor and Bars. Her totals on those events also counted as CONTRIBUTING SCORES towards the TEAM TOTAL.

Making their debuts at this Level after completing their Level 5 seasons were ASHLEY and KYLIE. BOTH girls fared very admirably as they each had several PERSONAL BESTS and multiple scores towards the TEAM OVERALL SCORE.

ASHLEY had CAREER HIGHS on Floor, Vault, and her All-Around, were she scored her first 30 of her career. ASH also tied her CAREER HIGH on Bars with perhaps her best routine this season.

KYLIE wasn’t fazed by the higher level neither as she was first up on Beam and promptly “STUCK IT”, giving her a PB on that event. She added CAREER HIGHS on Vault and her All-Around were she totaled a 30.85 and just missed a Level 3 score!

Just a great effort by all 4 girls and outstanding efforts from the “newbies”!

Finishing up the competition in the afternoon session were our Level 3 gymnasts. The team has been shorthanded due to some injuries and while their teammates are very much missed, HALEY, BRIANNA, and MARGAUX went out and competed in a big-time way on Sunday. They scored their highest All-Around this season and in putting up a 99.2, that score was good enough to win our GYMDAWGS the 3RD PLACE TEAM AWARD in what was a very competitive event.

HALEY has been nagged with minor injuries this year, but for this meet, she was as healthy as she’s been all season and put forth the type of performance that the coaches have been expecting and waiting for. She had 4 PERSONAL BESTS in the meet, on Floor, Vault, Bars, and her All-Around, where she scored a 32.8, topping her previous best by a point and a half! It also should be noted that no sooner did KIM establish a high mark on Bars for our team this year; it was short lived as HALEY set a new high just hours later! She now has her first QUALIFYING SCORE for Level 3 States.

In winning the 1ST PLACE AWARD on Balance Beam, MARGAUX not only set a  PERSONAL BEST mark for herself on that event, but she also established a new EXTREME GYMNASTICS SCHOOL RECORD by breaking OLIVIA’S 9.125 old mark with a sick 9.25 score! It was the highest individual score of either meet and needless to say, yes, it WAS STUCK!

Leading the team with a CAREER BEST 33.45 total score was BRIANNA who had one of the top efforts of this season. Her All-Around was the TEAM’S HIGH this year and one of BRI’s 3 PERSONAL BESTS for the day. She also had CAREER HIGHS and 1ST PLACE MEDALS on Floor and on Vault where on the latter event, she scored a 9.1. Significant in that score is the fact that for the 2 competitions, there were over 100 gymnasts entered and there were only 4 “9s” scored. MARGAUX and BRI had 2 of those 9s, while they also had the 2 TOP SCORES of the competitions! It should also be noted that BRIANNA attempted her back tuck on Beam for the first time ever in an actual meet. BRI now has one QUALIFYING SCORE towards LEVEL 2.

Congratulations ladies, your efforts truly made us most PROUD! Keep working hard and SUCCESSES will follow!

Shout out THANKS to LAURA and ALLINA who came to support their teammates. Your CARE is much appreciated!

April 11th in our DAWGHOUSE is next before STATES.

GO DAWGS! BE EXTREME!

 2009 10 GYMDAWG JIVE 6

The JOGA Level 5 & 6 seasons ended with the State Championships this past weekend.

For the Level 5 girls, combined, they scored their highest Bars event score this season, which is a nice way to cap off the year. Each of the girls, CAITLYN, KYLIE, ASHLEY, and CASSIDY, ALL contributed to the overall team efforts, at States and throughout the year. CASSIDY and CAITLYN, both in their second seasons of competition, will look to build off of this season towards next year’s campaign and much will be expected of them as they will serve as the leaders of the squad. Each of the girls finished well with CAITLYN “sticking” Beam for the fourth meet in a row, while CASS scored her highest Beam of this year.

ASHLEY will be extending her season, moving on to Level 4 after States as she had a very solid year at JOGA Level 5. ASH had one of her best floor routines of this season in capturing the 8th Place Award on that event. Her 28.875 was close to a PERSONAL BEST for her and was our team’s second highest overall score of the weekend.

Leading the squad in scoring and also looking to compete at the next Level is KYLIE, who gained her second score necessary for J4 Level in a big way as she scored a PERSONAL BEST 30.7 in her All-Around! Her total score was good enough to place her FOURTH Overall and top her previous CAREER HIGH All-Around by over a full point. KYLIE also had PERSONAL BESTS on Bars, Beam, and Floor, where her 8.2 awarded her a well-deserved 3rd Place Medal. Her efforts on Vault and Beam netted her 5th and 8th Place Medals respectfully on those events.

The Level 6 team ended their season in a most-fine fashion totaling their HIGHEST TEAM Score this season, while posting their highest event scores on both Beam and Floor exercise.

The girls combined for 16 PERSONAL BESTS for the day while ALL 6 gymnasts had at least 1 CONTRIBUTING Team Score!

MADDY was high scorer on the squad with a 28.45 All-Around, one of 3 CAREER HIGHS for her at the event. She also had PBs on Bars, and on Beam, where she nailed skills for the first time ever in competition, despite the lights going out during her routine! All told, MADDY won 4, Top-4 Medals in what was by far, her biggest and best competition to date.

GABBY improved her Overall score for the 6th consecutive meet in a row and totaled 4 PERSONAL BESTS for the event, with CAREER HIGHS on Bars, Beam, Floor and her All-Around. She won 2, Top-10 Medals with her Vault and Floor efforts.

In addition to MADDY and GABBY, our other first year competitor KELSEY, also ended her J6 season strong with an absolute nailing of Beam, where she put up her HIGHEST CAREER Score on that event with an 8.0, giving her the 5th Place Award there. KELSEY's Beam was the second of three “stuck” events for our team for the day, while she also captured 2 additional Medals on Vault where she was 4th, and in her All-Around, with an 8th Place finish.

LAURA had 3 CAREER HIGHS; Beam, All-Around, and her best ever Floor, which won her the 10th Place Award on that event.

OLIVIA also had 3 PERSONAL BESTS, each in the same categories as her teammate LAURA, as she too, finished the year off with big routines on Beam, Floor, and Overall. LIV was awarded the 8th Place Medal with her performance on Floor Exercise.

Having our team’s other “stuck” Beam was ALLINA, who tied a CAREER HIGH 8.1 on that apparatus and also gave her the 2nd Place Medal on the event. Her 28.125 All-Around was a PERSONAL BEST for her and notched her 10th Place there, while her Floor effort was not only another PB, but it also won her 4th Place on the event and had one opposing parent commenting, “that was the most-fun and possibly the best routine I’ve seen this weekend”!

ALLINA, MADDY, KELSEY, and OLIVIA all have qualified to move up to JOGA Level 5 next season, which combined with the other girls, should be a very strong squad.

With over 800 athletes in the JOGA League, just making it to States is a huge accomplishment! COACHES KIM, ERIK, SHANNON, PENNY, and OLIVIA are very proud of all of our gymnasts’ efforts and will look forward towards helping them have even more successes, as they continue to improve and build on the great foundation they already have.

BIG Thank yous go to the gymnasts who came out to support their teammates this weekend!

2009 10 Gymdawg Jive 5

Sunday the 24th saw the Level 3 and 4 teams here at Extreme Gymnastics complete their third meet of the year while our 5 and 6 squads finished out their regular season competitions.

The 3’s were able to put up their highest event scores to date on Vault, Bars, and Beam respectfully. MARGAUX led the team with a 32.6 All-Around, which was the high score of the day for all of our GYMDAWGS. BRIANNA had our individual event high score for the sessions with her 9.0 on Vault which tied a PERSONAL BEST for her on that event. HALEY was able to improve her scores on both Vault and Bars from her last meet.

For the Level 4’s, MEG had a 29.4 which placed her first in the All-Around. ALYSSA had a nice routine and a CAREER HIGH on Bars, while KIM got her second score necessary for States.

ASHLEY once again led the Level 5 girls, as she had a 29.5 All-Around, which was a PERSONAL BEST score for her. After J5 States, ASH will extend her season competing as a Level 4. TORI just missed PBs on Bars and in her All-Around, where her overall score gave her the 2ND PLACE AWARD there. KYLIE had a CAREER HIGH on Floor which won her the 1ST PLACE MEDAL on that event, while she had one of the SEVEN “STUCK” Beam routines for the Level 5 and 6 squads combined. Both TORI and KYLIE have the opportunity to compete after Level 5 States if they put up the second score necessary to move on to J4 Level. CAITLYN, amazingly, for the third straight meet, nailed her Beam with a stuck routine. CASSIDY too, had no falls on Beam and her score there was her best this season.

For the Level 6’s, they had their highest event score of the year with their Floor exercise, while they had 4 additional stuck Beam performances. The J6 girls were led by ALLINA’s 26.95, which scored her 2ND PLACE in the All-Around. MADDY had a PERSONAL BEST on Floor, while LAURA had a CAREER HIGH on Vault. Sticking Beam for the second meet in a row was OLIVIA. Also having a no-falls Beam was KELSEY who took 1ST PLACE in her All-Around age group. GABBY tied her CAREER HIGHS on Vault and Bars, while her 25.7 All-Around was a PERSONAL BEST and gave her 5 straight meets of improving her total AA score. She too had a nice stuck Beam event. In finishing up her inaugural season as a competitive gymnast, ABBIE also raised her All-Around 5 consecutive meets, with her 25.0 total score being an improvement of 2.5 points from her last meet and a sick, 7 point improvement from her opening competition this year! ABBIE had CAREER HIGHS on Vault, Bars, All-Around and on Beam, where she ended her year as she started it, with a STUCK routine!

THANK YOUS again and ALWAYS, go out to FAMILY, FRIENDS, PARENTS, and TEAMMATES, for their support and all of their help with the meets!

JOGA Level 5 and 6 States are next for our girls…

GO DAWGS! BE EXTREME!

2009 10 GYMDAWG JIVE # 4

This past weekend our Level 3 Team was able to put up a “team” score, albeit, the squad is still short-handed due to some injury issues.

BRIANNA, HALEY, and MARGAUX were able to score a 94.8 in the competition, with each girl achieving a PERSONAL BEST score.

MARGAUX was the meet’s high scorer for all of our gymnasts at 32.35 as she had a CAREER HIGH on Bars. BRI was just behind her at 32.1, and she too had a PERSONAL BEST on the Uneven Bar event. Both girls have qualified for Level 3 States. HALEY ended her rotations with a great floor routine, giving her a CAREER BEST there with an 8.5.

The Level 4 girls had just 2 gymnasts in this event with MEGAN and ALYSSA representing our GYMDAWGS. ALYSSA just missed on a PB on floor, but her All-Around total gave her the necessary 2nd score needed for Level 4 States. MEG had a CAREER HIGH on Floor exercise with an 8 for the first time in her competition career.

ASHLEY led all Level 5 gymnasts with a PERSONAL BEST 29.3 total score. In addition, she added CAREER HIGHS on Bars and on Floor, where one noted judge commented, “There are very few, if any, deductions in this routine”.  ASH has now achieved her 2nd score necessary to move on to Level 4 next season. After Level 5 States, ASHLEY will be given the opportunity to “extend” her competition season, as we will have 2 Level 3/4 meets remaining on our schedule.

KYLIE had another solid meet, just missing out on her second Level 4 total, while putting up a PERSONAL BEST score on Floor.

CAITLYN and CASSIDY each had CONTRIBUTING TEAM scores while “Z” nailed Beam for the second meet in a row with a “STUCK” routine on that event.

The Level 6’s were paced by MADDY with a 27.3 All-Around. MADDY also had a PERSONAL BEST on Bars in this competition.

LAURA and GABBY both had 3 CAREER HIGHS, including their All-Arounds, with Vault and Bars the other events respectfully for PBs.

ABBIE continued to improve in this her first season, and for us, our only 7-year old competitor, as she had 2 PERSONAL BESTS which included her All-Around where she improved her previous high score for the 4th straight meet.

ALLINA and KELSEY both had strong Floor routines and their efforts there rewarded them with CARRER HIGHS on that event.

OLIVIA had the opportunity of starting on Beam for our squad and rewarded that decision with a “STUCK” routine, the very first of her career.

KELSEY, OLIVIA, ALLINA, and MADDY have all scored enough to move onto LEVEL 5 for next season.

THANK YOUS go to SARAH and KATIE who spent their afternoon supporting their teammates; and also to TORI, who was a scratch, but still came to the meet and was a great help on the floor.

There is one final competition for our Level 5 and 6’s before States and that will be in our DAWGHOUSE on SUNDAY January 24th. It’s a double-session with our Level 3 and 4’s starting the day off in the morning meet. This will serve as a final tune-up for the 5 and 6 gymnasts before the State final on Valentine’s weekend, which 11 of our 12 competitors have qualified for.

GO DAWGS! BE EXTREME!

2009 10 GYMDAWG JIVE # 2 and # 3 (1/11/10)

Level 5/6 girls are off back-to-back meets while the 3’s and 4’s had their opening competition last weekend, which was a snow makeup from our postponed December 20th affair.

Highlights from that January 2nd competition included 35 PERSONAL BESTS, with 10 of our girls gaining their 2nd qualifying score needed for States.

In the first session of the day, ASHLEY had the meet’s INDIVIDUAL HIGH SCORE of the competition with an awesome 8.65 effort on Beam, where she was one of 6 EXTREME gymnasts who had “STUCK” routines on that event. Her high score tally on that apparatus gave ASH a PERSONAL BEST there.

TORI scored 8’s for the first time in her career on Floor and Beam, where she also had a routine without falls. In addition she added a PB on Bars.

ALLINA had a CAREER BEST 8 on Beam as well with another “STUCK” event there.

LAURA had very first, FIRST PLACE AWARD on Floor which was 1 of her 2 PERSONAL BESTS for the meet. Her other was in the All-Around.

KELSEY, GABBY, OLIVIA, MADDY, KYLIE and CASSIDY added 12 more PERSONAL BESTS for the Level 5’s and 6’s as both TEAMS improved their TEAM SCORES; each by 1.25 from their opening meets.

Our only 7- year old competitor, ABBIE, had a huge jump from her first ever meet, improving her All-Around by over 3 points which was just 1 of 5 CAREER HIGHS for her on the day.

For the Level 3 and 4 Teams, 5 of the 6 girls who competed received their first qualifying score for States.

HALEY did not compete all of the events due to injury but still managed to put up respectable numbers despite the handicap.

Scoring 9’s, which were the only 9’s of either competition were MARGAUX and BRIANNA.

BRI’s came on Vault were her Tsuk gave her a PERSONAL BEST on that event and helped her with a CAREER HIGH in her All-Around as well.

MARGAUX had her 9 on Floor and added an 8.9 on Vault, which combined with her other events totaled 33.2 All-Around which was the HIGH SCORE for the day.

MEG, ALYSSA, and KIM combined for 6 more CAREER HIGHS, with both ALYSSA and KIM “STICKING” their Beam events, and ALYSSA busting 30 and change for the first time ever.

THANK YOUS go to FAMILY, PARENTS, TEAMMATES, and FRIENDS for their HELP and SUPPORT at this affair.

This past Sunday, the Level 5 and 6 TEAMS had their third competition of the year. For the Level 5’s they had their HIGHEST TEAM SCORE of the season, with all 5 gymnasts having at least 1 CONTRIBUTING TEAM SCORE towards the 89.5 total.

That result enabled our squad to be the recipient of the SECOND PLACE TEAM trophy at the event.

KYLIE was HIGH SCORER for the TEAM at 29.55, which was 1 of her 3 PERSONAL BESTS for the competition. Noteworthy in her efforts is the fact that she scored an 8 on Floor for the first time, while she improved her Bar score by almost a full point.

CAITLYN had an outstanding Beam routine that not only did she “STICK”, but also gave her a PERSONAL BEST SCORE of an 8; the first of her career on that event, and an improvement of 2 points from her opening meet this year! “Z” also had a PB in her All-Around.

Rounding out the squad, CASSIDY, TORI, and ASHLEY combined for 3 additional CAREER HIGHS, as all of our Level 5 TEAM will be going to STATES.

Not to be outdone, the Level 6 TEAM also WON the SECOND PLACE TEAM AWARD, as our girls on that squad had 21 more PERSONAL BESTS!

HIGH SCORER for the TEAM was MADDY who had a 27.95, good enough for a PERSONAL BEST, which was 1 of 4 CAREER HIGHS for her on the day.

Also having 4 PERSONAL BESTS were GABBY, who had an improvement of a point and a half in her All-Around, and ABBIE, who has now improved her total score by almost 5 points since the opening meet of her young career.

LAURA as well, had 4 CAREER HIGHS as she has improved her Floor score now in each of the 3 meets this year.

OLIVIA got her first 7 ever on Floor, as she combined with KELSEY and ALLINA for 5 more PERSONAL BESTS.

Shout-outs go to MEG and BRIANNA for spending the day supporting their TEAMMATES.

While these last 2 meets give cause for optimism for our TEAMS, with 11 of 12 Level 5 and 6 gymnasts having now made States, the reality is that there is so much more room for improvement.

The COACHING STAFF of KIM, ERIK, SHANNON, OLIVIA, and PENNY, while proud of the girls’ efforts, will be looking to make the necessary improvements needed for a “peak” showing at States, upcoming on Valentine’s weekend.

The next 2 weekends the TEAMS have meets, with a January 24th double session in our DAWGHOUSE.

BE EXTREME! GO DAWGS!

   GYMDAWG JIVE # 1 2009 10 SEASON

1st meet of the year for our EXTREME TEAM, and our kids kicked off this season in pretty fine fashion. 10 of 12 girls had contributing scores towards the 2 team totals, while there were 15 PERSONAL BESTS from our returning gymnasts. With 11 of 12 gaining their 1st of 2 scores necessary for States!

High scorer for the squad and also high scorer for the entire event was ASHLEY who put up a 29.20 in her J5 Level debut. That 1st Place All-Around total gave her a PERSONAL BEST score while ASH also had 3 additional CAREER HIGHS on Bars, Beam, and Floor.

CAITLYN had the meet’s high individual event score with an 8.1 on Vault. Z’s score was also the only 8 of the competition!

TORI and CASSIDY each had a PERSONAL BEST, with TORI tying a high score on 2 other events, while KYLIE had 2 CAREER HIGHS, including a PB in her ALL-Around.

All 5 J5 gymnasts contributed scores to the team’s 85.8 total.

At J6 Level, leading scorer for our GYMDAWGS was ALLINA who scored 27.5 in her All-Around. She had PERSONAL BESTS on Bars and Beam, where she went 7.4 on that event.

OLIVIA and LAURA each had 3 CAREER HIGHS, all in the same categories, Vault, Bars, and most importantly, their All-Arounds.

The team’s 4 first year competitors handled themselves in really a most admirable way.

ABBIE, our youngest gymnast at 7-years old, shook off some warm-up nerves and wound up “STICKING” her Beam routine; the only gymnast on the squad to nail this event!

GABBY and MADDY combined for 4 CONTRIBUTING TEAM scores for the J6 Level team. MADDY won 1st Place in her age group All-Around, while GABBY just missed out on winning Vault due to a tie-breaker.

Winning the 1st Place All-Around Award in the 7-8 age group was ASHLEY’S younger sister KELSEY, which obviously made for a fine day in their parent’s household! KELSEY added 3 CONTRIBUTING TEAM scores towards the J6 Level team’s 82.8 final score.

All-in all, our coaches, KIM, ERIK, OLIVIA, SHANNON , and PENNY, were very proud of our girls in what was a very competitive meet.

Of shout-out importance goes to our parents, family and friends for all of their help in getting this meet season started, and a special THANK YOU to ALL of the other GYMDAWGS who were not competing for their efforts and support of their TEAMMATES!

GO DAWGS! BE EXTREME!

GYMDAWG JIVE 10 FINAL 2008 09

The 2008-2009 JOGA year ended this past weekend as 6 of our gymnasts completed their seasons at Level B States.

In the season finale, our GYMDAWGS, out of 39 squads, managed to finish as the 10th best Level B team in the State!

Making for a total team effort, each of our competitors had at least 1contributing team score towards our overall tally.

In addition, individually, every girl placed, while they had 27 TOP-15 MEDALS, with 11 TOP-5 AWARDS!

Leading scorer for the team, as she was in 4 of her 5 meets this season was SARAH, who posted a 31.175 total, which gave her the THIRD PLACE AWARD in the All-Around. SARAH added a FOURTH on Bars, a SECOND on Vault, while on Floor, she put on a wonderful routine that was filled with great big leaps and jumps and tight, crisp tumbling. Her effort on Floor exercise was rewarded with the FIRST PLACE MEDAL in the event making SARAH the Level B FLOOR STATE CHAMPION in her age group!

SARAH’s championship gives COACH KIM 47 STATE CHAMPIONS now in her JOGA coaching career.

HALEY finished her season very strong with a “stuck” Beam routine that gave her the THIRD PLACE MEDAL in that event. She also nailed her dismount on Bars where she finished FOURTH, while overall, she wound up in FIFTH PLACE in the All-Around with a 31.05 score.

In the early session, BRIANNA had a “stuck” Beam routine as well, as she took the FOURTH PLACE AWARD on that apparatus.

ANA was also in this age-group of the first session, which was perhaps the toughest, if not the biggest group of the day. Both girls accounted for themselves nicely as ANA connected her tough dismount on Beam to finish SEVENTH there, while BRI chipped in with 2 additional TOP 10 finishes on Bars and in her All-Around.

MARGAUX crushed Vault, just missing on a CAREER HIGH there. Her effort on that event, as well as on Floor gave her 2 THIRD PLACE AWARDS for the competition.

Ending the day in the last session was KIM, who had the only PERSONAL BEST SCORE for our squad in winning the FOURTH PLACE MEDAL on floor. KIM improved her score on that event for the 4th straight meet, while she too “stuck” her Beam routine.

In attendance but unfortunately unable to compete due to injury, was KATE, who will look towards next year to drill her monster Vault!

Also at the event to support and cheer on their GYMDAWG teammates were TORI, KAT, ALYSSA, and CASSIDY. Thank you girls!

With half the team “sticking” Beam, and EVERY GIRL contributing a team score, COACHES KIM and ERIK were very proud and pleased with the overall results generated by the GREAT EFFORTS of our GYMDAWGS! This TEAM is set up quite nicely for next year as we will have veterans at all levels for COACHES KIM, ERIK, SHANNON, PENNY, and OLIVIA to work with!

Thank you PARENTS for an awesome year!

GO DAWGS! BE EXTREME!

GYMDAWG JIVE 9 2008 09

Great “bounce back’ effort from our lady GYMDAWGS this past Sunday, as the girls had a much improved performance from the week prior. Our squad had 12 PERSONAL BESTS, with 6 of 8 gymnasts having CONTRIBUTING TEAM scores; vault and floor had the 2 HIGHEST EVENT scores this season, while the TEAM OVERALL total of 97.75 was good enough for FIRST PLACE TEAM!

In finishing up her Level B season, coming out of Level C, ALYSSA showed that she can hang tough and that she truly belongs at this level as she posted 2 PERSONAL BESTS on bars and on floor. ALYSSA should be a major force next season!

Also finishing out her year at Level B after extending her season after C States was KAT, who had 3 CAREER HIGHS, on floor, bars, and her all-around. KAT also had a “stuck” beam routine, giving her 3 stuck beams in a row. Oh! She also holds the distinction of never falling off beam as a Level B!

Coming back strong this week was HALEY who had her highest floor of this season. HALEY also nailed her beam giving us the 2nd of 3 “sticks” on that event. Noteworthy too, is the fact that she threw her bar dismount without an assist and that should be huge bump in her score by the time States is here!

“Tough-chick” award goes out to KATIE who hyper-extended her knees on her first tumbling pass on floor…and still finished her routine! Prior to that, KATE tied a PERSONAL BEST on bars, while she took FIRST PLACE on vault in her age group with a monstrous tsuk.

ANA had 5 TOP 3 AWARDS, while she posted a PERSONAL BEST score on bars. ANA was injured before States last season, so she is anxiously awaiting her first-ever States competition in the Level B finale this year!

MARGAUX had a great finish to this meet with her 9.15 score on floor. That lofty number was not only a PERSONAL BEST for her on that event, but it was also the first-ever 9 of her gymnastics CAREER! MARGAUX tied for a CAREER HIGH on vault as well.

Growing up to be a “big-girl” gymnast right before our eyes is KIM, who continues to improve with every meet, as she has a renewed focus and enthusiasm that is very evident. In raising her over-all total score, she has now posted PERSONAL BEST scores in her all-around for the third consecutive meet! KIM “stuck” her beam routine for the second competition in a row, and her score on that event also gave her a PERSONAL BEST there. It should be noted, KIM has now increased her score on beam in every meet this year which bodes well for States!

BRIANNA had your basic kick-butt meet, as she was our TEAM’S HIGH SCORER with a 32.15! That PERSONAL BEST all-around score topped her previous high by over a point, while she has now improved her overall score in 4 straight meets! BRI had another PERSONAL BEST on floor, while her third CAREER HIGH came on vault where her Tsukahara had both power and amplitude and was stuck for the first time this year! Her all-around score gave her the first qualifying score necessary for Level A.

Not to put pressure on BRI or MARGAUX for that matter, but at States, expectations will be that those girls get their second “A” score so that SARAH has somebody to play with next year…

THANK YOUS to OLIVIA, KYLIE, TORI, CASSIDY, and MEG who not only came to help out, but also to lend support to their TEAMMATES as well!

Next meet will be in about a month as all 7 of our GYMDAWGS will be at Level B STATES, where the COACHING STAFF expects even further improvement from each and every one of our competitors as they strive to have their season’s absolute, BEST EFFORTS!

GO DAWGS!

GYMDAWG JIVE 7 022309

Third meet of the season for our Level B squad was held this past Sunday, here in our DAWGHOUSE. The girls set a new Level B TEAM HIGH SCORE here at EXTREME GYMNASTICS by posting a 99.25! They also set season highs on ALL 4 events, with the highlight being the 25.2 on Beam, where we had 3 “STUCK” routines!

Individually, our GYMDAWGS had 19 PERSONAL BESTS on the day!

All-around high scorer for the TEAM was MARGAUX who put up a CAREER BEST 33.95! That gives MARGAUX not only her 1st Level B+ qualifying score, but also her 1st “A” score needed for advancement. She added PERSONAL BESTS on Floor and on Beam, where she once again nailed a “STUCK” routine for back-to-back meets!

Having 4 PERSONAL BESTS, in this her first Level B meet, was MEG who busted 31 and change after going to C-States! MEG also hit her Beam as she scored an 8.4 there, besting her previous high on that event by over a point!

KATIE had PERSONAL BESTS on Bars, Floor, as well as in her All-around. She also nailed her TSUK vault for the second time this year!

KIM also had 3 CAREER TOP SCORES, with hers coming on vault, (“big-girl size”), Bars, and All-Around. She also got her 1st qualifying score needed for B States.

SARAH had a PERSONAL BEST on vault plus 3 CONTRIBUTING TEAM scores, while she also received her 2nd “A” score needed for the next Level!

2 girls also in their 1st Level B meets of their careers were ALYSSA and KAT, who combined for 4 more PERSONAL BESTS. KAT improved her All-around by almost a full point and also “STUCK” her Beam. While ALYSSA’S highlight came on Floor, where not only did she have a CONTRIBUTING TEAM score there, but it was also her 1st 8 ever on that event!

HALEY had a CONTRIBUTING TEAM score and was her usual consistent self in scoring 31+ for the third straight meet.

ANA continued her scoring rise on Bars as for the 2nd straight competition; she improved her CAREER BEST on that event by a lot!

If there was a negative to the day, it was BRIANNA having to scratch her last 3 events after tweaking her knee during vault. Still, she was a TEAM PLAYER throughout in staying and rooting her mates on. BRI should be fine in time for the next meet in March.

Much thanks to all of the parents and kids and other TEAM MEMBERS who helped with this event. You guys were awesome!

GO DAWGS!

GYMDAWG JIVE 6 020809 FINAL LEVEL C

Level C States was the happening this past weekend for 8 of our girls.

TORI started the the sessions off for our GYMDAWGS by scoring a near PERSONAL BEST on vault. Significant in that beginning was the fact that she was the first of our 8 gymnasts to score at least an 8 or higher in this event! TORI finished her first year competing as one of our most consistent beam workers.

Next session came MEG, CASSIDY, and ALYSSA and these girls combined for 6 PERSONAL BESTS among them.

MEG’S PERSONAL BEST occurred on floor; an event that she has gotten better at as this year has gone on. MEG had the HIGH ALL-AROUND SCORE for the 2 days in totaling 29.475.  She will look to extend her season now as a Level B.

CASSIDY nailed her beam routine, “STICKING” this event in back to back meets. She had her PERSONAL BESTS on vault and floor, while she scored the first 8 of her career in this, her season finale.

ALYSSA was amped to the max for this meet and it showed as she improved her PERSONAL BEST all-around by over 2 points! ALYSSA’S floor exercise was another CAREER HIGH, as was her bars, where she posted a 6 for the first time.

The Sunday morning session had ASHLEY, KAT, and KYLIE combining for another 6-pack of PERSONAL BESTS.

KAT came close to duplicating her monster vault from earlier in the year in going 8.4 on this event. That score was our TEAM INDIVIDUAL HIGH SCORE for the weekend and it was good enough to award KAT the 2ND PLACE MEDAL there. KAT will also be adding some extra time to her season as she will compete the remainder of this year as a Level B.

ASHLEY had CAREER HIGHS on floor and on vault where she too scored her first career 8. In her season final, ASH put up a 3rd PERSONAL BEST in her all-around, where she improved that number by just about a full point!

KYLIE put up 3 PERSONAL BESTS on vault and floor, and her all-around as well! Her total overall score beat her previous all-around by a full point!

CAITLYN ended our sessions in fine fashion by posting 4 PERSONAL BESTS! “Z” had perhaps her finest floor routine of her career as she had highs there, on beam, vault and her all-around. As was the theme of the 2 days, she also improved her all-around mark by a point while she had the very first 8 of her career as well in her season-ending effort!

Overall for this final competition of the Level C season, the girls posted a total of 16 PERSONAL BESTS; they had their highest floor score of the season, and, their 2nd highest total TEAM score of the year! Hats off ladies, you REALLY done quite right for yourselves and made us all very proud!

The coaches, from KIM, to ERIK, to DAVE, to PENNY, to OLIVIA, and SHANNON, your efforts and work with these girls should be commended! Having 11 first year competitors on this squad and having 7 of those newbies go to States is a great accomplishment! The combined hard work of BOTH gymnasts and coaches is not only recognized in the results of this season, but should make for a great future in the months and years to come!

GO DAWGS-BE EXTREME!

GYMDAWG JIVE # 5 2008 09

The Level C regular season ended this past Sunday with some impressive numbers being put up by our youngsters, most significant of which was the HIGHEST TEAM SCORE of the year as the Level C’s totaled 88.125!

Important too is the fact that the C TEAM also achieved 20 more individual PERSONAL BESTS for the day!

MEG was the leading scorer for the C’s with a 29.55. MEG, together with ASHLEY, KAT, CAITLYN, and FRANNIE, combined for 5 PERSONAL BEST scores, 5 CONTRIBUTING TEAM scores, and 6 TOP 5 PLACES, with one of the highlights being FRANNIE’s improvement on floor by a full point!

LAURA had 2 PERSONAL HIGH SCORES, while tying for 2 others.

OLIVIA also had 2 PERSONAL BESTS with a 1.5 point increase in her all-around.

TORI just missed a Level B score in posting her highest all-around to date. She also had another PERSONAL HIGH SCORE on floor.

ALYSSA went for a bunch of new skills as she too posted 2 PERSONAL BESTS.

KYLIE had her highest all-around, while scoring her first career 8 on vault, which was a PERSONAL BEST as well.

CASSIDY needed a 5.9 on beam to qualify for STATES, and she busted that number up pretty good in going 7.55 with a “STUCK” routine. Not only was that beam score a PERSONAL BEST, but it enabled our C TEAM to now have 8 gymnasts at STATES! CASS also had her HIGHEST all-around to date as well.

Also “STICKING” her beam routine was ALLINA, who had a very impressive meet to end her season. ALLINA swept the board with 5 PERSONAL BESTS! Her all-around total was a full 3 point increase from her previous high!

Each and every one of the Level C’s should have a sense of pride with the conclusion of the regular season. For those 8 going to STATES, we’re expecting the SUCCESSES to continue, both as a TEAM and individually. And for those whose seasons ended this past weekend, the strides that you have made as gymnasts were monumental as there were improvements and accomplishments that went way beyond our expectations! So keep it going and continue to work hard and ensure that our C TEAM will be in good hands for next season!

Onto the Level B girls, one gets the impression that there could be something special here.

5 of the girls have already qualified for STATES after the 1st 2 meets.

2 others have their first STATE score.

Sunday, in WINNING the 2nd PLACE TEAM AWARD in back-to-back weekends, and going up against some really tough competition mind you, the B’s put up a score of 97.75, which just happens to be a new EXTREME Level B record!

And for the second time in 2 opportunities, EXTREME had the HIGHEST INDIVIDUAL scorer for the meet, as MARGAUX had just an absolutely sick, “STUCK” beam routine! MARGAUX went 8.7 on that event, improving her previous high by a full point, while she has now gone 2 meets in a row of increasing her PERSONAL BEST on the balance beam.

As she was in the last meet, the leading scorer for the TEAM was SARAH who scored 32.45 and received her first Level A score of the year. SARAH also had a PERSONAL BEST on beam and she too “STUCK” her routine. Her all-around was a CAREER HIGH as well.

JESS came out in fine fashion in what was her opening meet of the year, as she had 4 PERSONAL BESTS.

ANA put up 3 PERSONAL HIGH scores, including her first 30 in her all-around, while HALEY, KATIE and BRI combined for 4 other CAREER HIGHS.

Together, the TEAM tallied 14 PERSONAL BESTS while tying for 5 others.

The squad has their next meet in our DAWG HOUSE.

Expectations are for more “STUCK” beam routines, a STINGIER outlook towards “giving away” tenths, and an overall commitment towards continued progress and improvements in all facets of their performances.

GO DAWGS!

GYMDAWG JIVE 4 2008 09 1/11/09

Lots to be excited about from Saturday, in what was the opener for our Level B squad and next to last regular season meet for our C girls.

7 PERSONAL BESTS were put up by the B’s and an awesome 32 PERSONAL HIGHS from the Level C Team! The Level B girls wound up winning the 2ND PLACE TEAM AWARD for the event while the Level C’s finished just out of trophy range in 3RD.

Many highlights, starting right out of the gate as the “gottahavegutz” award goes to ALLINA, who began the meet, not only ripping off bars and taking a nasty fall, but ripping her fingernail completely off in the process. ALLINA, finished her routine, and then promptly got her act together and went out and posted 3 PERSONAL BESTS in the event! TOUGH…

Somewhat similar along those same lines, CASSIDY started this evening off in a most uncharacteristic way. Then she too, composed herself, and also posted 3 PERSONAL BESTS.

And in all honesty, MOST of our girls took it on the chin to begin the meet as uneven bars were rough, with a lot of this event, not in our girls’ control.

How a gymnast handles adversity or difficulty or disappointment, or any other non-success, usually determines not only what type of athlete they are or will become, but more importantly, what type of people they are. And from our standpoint, ALL of our young ladies should be quite fine going thru life thank you.

FRANNIE scored an 8 for the first time of her young career in posting 2 PERSONAL BESTS.

ASHLEY just missed an 8, but she too had 2 PERSONAL BESTS for the night.

KAT won 1ST on vault while having a PERSONAL HIGH on beam.

CAITLYN, OLIVIA, KYLIE, and LAURA each had 3 PERSONAL BESTS, with KYLIE winning the 1ST PLACE AWARD on beam.

TORI received the first 8 of her career, while for the second time this season, she STUCK her beam routine. On the night, she also had 3 PERSONAL HIGH SCORES.

Following TORI on beam, and giving us back-to-back STUCK routines was ALYSSA, who on the day after her birthday treated herself by getting her second score necessary for STATES. As has been the norm on this night, ALYSSA also nailed 3 PERSONAL BESTS.

Leading the Level C squad was MEGAN who tallied the first 30 of her career in going 30.1 in her all-around. That gave her the 1ST PLACE AWARD there as she wound up with 4 PERSONAL HIGH SCORES for the meet. MEG also achieved her 2ND Level B score as well.

For the Level B girls, MARGAUX had a PERSONAL BEST on beam, had a CONTRIBUTING TEAM score on floor where she took 2ND PLACE , while she went 30 and change in her all-around.

ANA had a 2ND, and 2 1ST PLACE AWARDS, to go along with a couple of CONTRIBUTING TEAM scores.

BRI had a CONTRIBUTING TEAM score plus 3 1ST PLACE finishes.

HALEY had a goal of topping 31 and she did just that in scoring 31.4 in her all-around. That gave her a PERSONAL BEST there. HALEY also had a PERSONAL HIGH score on vault, 3 CONTRIBUTING TEAM scores and a couple of 2ND PLACE AWARDS for the night.

There had to be big smiles in the household of SARAH and KATIE, as the 2 sisters made for a very memorable EXTREME evening.

SARAH hadn’t competed for our school in a couple of years due to injury, but it is a credit to her determination and character as she came back in strong fashion on Saturday night. She wound up leading the TEAM in scoring in putting up a 31.45, which was the 2ND HIGHEST all-around score of the meet. SARAH had 4 CONTRIBUTING TEAM scores and a couple of 2ND PLACE finishes to go along with her 1ST PLACE on vault, which was a PERSONAL BEST score for her.

For KATIE, she wound up the night scoring her first 30, 30.55 in her all-around- a PERSONAL BEST. She also had a CAREER HIGH on beam. But the big event for her, and our TEAM, came on vault where she threw a Tsukahara and nailed it, giving our GYMDAWGS the first 9 of this season! That gave KATE another PERSONAL BEST there, as well as the 1ST PLACE AWARD on that event. In addition, it was the HIGHEST individual score for the entire meet!

One of our TEAM’s catch phrases has always been “FINISH STRONG”.

Well, that couldn’t have been any more evident this past weekend as with our squads finishing up on vault, 14 of 18 gymnasts had PERSONAL BESTS on that event!

That’s sick good…

WALK PROUD ladies, because you BARKED LOUD!

 GO DAWGS!

GYMDAWG JIVE 3 2008 09

Despite having meets on back-to-back weekends, our girls handled themselves very well this past Sunday as they managed to post 15 PERSONAL BESTS on the day!

Leading the TEAM with a HIGH SCORE of 29.10 was KAT, who now has her 2 scores required for Level B advancement. KAT swept the board in her age group while tallying PERSONAL BESTS on beam and floor.

Having 3 CONTRIBUTING TEAM SCORES as well as 3 PERSONAL BESTS was TORI. Her floor score was a PERSONAL HIGH for her as she helped our GYMDAWGS achieve the highest TEAM floor score for any meet this season. TORI’s vault and all-around were her other PERSONAL TOPS to date.

OLIVIA improved her all-around by a point and a half! And she too had 3 PERSONAL BESTS, as well as a contributing TEAM score.

LAURA also put up a trifecta of PERSONAL BESTS, on bars, floor, and her all-around, which she increased by 2 full points!

CAITLYN achieved her second score necessary for STATES and she now gives us 6 gymnasts who have qualified for the post season! “Z” also had 2 personal highs on floor and in her all-around.

FRANNIE improved her balance beam by a full point as her nice routine on that event gave her not only a PERSONAL BEST there, but also, a CONTRIBUTING TEAM SCORE.

CASSIDY had a CONTRIBUTING TEAM SCORE and a PERSONAL BEST on floor, as she had her best performance to date on that event.

MEG, ASHLEY, ALYSSA, KYLIE, and ALLINA, together, combined for 11 TOP 7 AWARDS. As each girl had multiple PLACES in the meet while having several CONTRIBUTING TEAM SCORES.

Overall, COACHES KIM and ERIK were pleased with the performances of the girls as several of kids worked very hard during the week and their efforts were well rewarded.

Shout outs go to KATIE and BRI who sung a kick-butt rendition of “GOD BLESS AMERICA ” to start the event off.

While also, MUCHO APPRECIATION goes out to ALL the PARENTS, SIBLINGS, FRIENDS, and our other SUPPORTING GYMDAWG GYMNASTS, for all of their help and work in getting the gym in order, both prior and after the meet!

YOU GUYS ROCK and we can’t THANK YOU enough! GO DAWGS!

GYMDAWG JIVE 2 2008 09

Nice improvements from our LEVEL C TEAM in their 2nd meet of this season as the girls raised their total score by 4 points from their opener!

Overall the team had 5 girls qualify already for STATES, while having 18 TOP 6 awards and 33 PERSONAL BESTS for the day!

Leading scorer was KAT who put up the first 30 of the year in scoring a 30.3 in her all-around! That score gave her 1st PLACE in her age-group. KAT improved her bar score by 1.5 points while she achieved her 2nd score necessary for STATES as well as a LEVEL B score. She also had the HIGH EVENT score for our TEAM as she went 8.65 on vault.

MEG was right behind her with a 29 all-around, also a PERSONAL BEST for her there. For her efforts, MEG will be going to STATES while she too, posted her first LEVEL B score.

Having 5 PERSONAL BESTS on the afternoon was CASSIDY, who had almost a 2 point improvement on bars from her first meet! CASS scored enough in her all around to get her first STATE score.

ASHLEY had 4 PERSONAL BESTS as she topped her previous high in all around scoring by a full point. ASH also achieved her 2nd STATE score.

ALYSSA posted her first STATE score with 3 PERSONAL BESTS. She also joined MEG and KAT in putting up a score of 8 or higher for the second meet in a row on vault.

TORI and KYLIE gave our school gymnasts #4 and 5 going to STATES as they scored enough to qualify for the post season, while they chipped in together with 4 more PERSONAL BESTS.

Combining for 12 additional PERSONAL BESTS were ALLINA, FRAN, OLIVIA, and CAITLYN. CAIT raised her beam score by a full point and had 3 contributing TEAM scores, while FRAN improved her bar score by almost a point, with ALLINA and LIV improving their bars by a point and 1.5 points respectfully.

The meet ended with COACH ERIK winning the coach’s handstand contest!

Next meet is Sunday in our DAWGHOUSE as COACH KIM expects the girls to continue working hard and to keep making progress and improvements. GO DAWGS!

GYMDAWG JIVE  #1  2007-2008 Season 10-29-07

Had to be likin’ the efforts of our Level C girls in their first meet of the season as they came out flying in winning the FIRST PLACE TEAM AWARD amongst the 7 teams entered this past Sunday.

In scoring 90.25, our GYMDAWG TEAM topped last year’s highest C score by OVER 10 POINTS, and put up the highest score for a Level C team here in 3 years!

EVERY gymnast had a contributing TEAM SCORE.

EVERY gymnast had at least 3 CAREER PERSONAL BEST SCORES.

EVERY gymnast received her first STATE QUALIFYING SCORE.

THREE of the six Level C’s received LEVEL B SCORES.

Our squad placed in 27 out of a possible 30 places.

Leading the way was HALEY who scored a 30.0 in winning FIRST PLACE in the All-Around. HALEY also received FIRST PLACE AWARDS on Floor and Uneven Bars, where on that event, she scored over 2 points HIGHER than her previous Bar PERSONAL BEST! Her All-Around score was almost 3 points higher than her highest All-Around from last season!

Scoring right behind HALEY, was BRIANNA, who went 29.45, topping her PERSONAL BEST in her All-Around by almost 2 full points! BRI’S effort on Balance Beam, where she “STUCK” her routine, gave her a FIRST PLACE AWARD on that event.

Having an awesome Beam and also “STICKING” her routine and putting up a PERSONAL BEST there, while winning FIRST PLACE on this event in her age group was JESS. Her All-Around score of 29.4 was yet another PERSONAL BEST by over a point!

Besides JESS and HALEY, MEGAN and KATIE also had 4 PERSONAL BEST SCORES. Their identical 27.7’s bested their prior high All-Arounds by 1 and 1.8 points respectively.

In her first competition ever, ANA accounted herself quite nicely as she scored a 27.5 and had a contributing team score in placing THIRD on Beam.

All in all COACH KIM was very pleased and tremendously proud of the entire TEAM’s efforts as she and COACH ERIK will be looking for improvements as the year goes on. Because realistically, despite how well the girls did on Sunday, our squad has the potential to score MUCH HIGHER. The win is nice, but there is a lot to work on with the next meet in our DAWG HOUSE upcoming on November 18th.

Shout-outs go to Preteamers, TORI, ALTHEA, ASHLEY, and KELSEY, and to the injured, OLIVIA, who all made the trip to support the Level C’s.

Special acknowledgement to KELLY, one of our Level A GYMDAWGS, who on this past Thursday set a NEW UNEVEN BAR RECORD at her High School!

GYMDAWG JIVE LEVEL A FINAL 05-07-07

The 2006-2007 JOGA season ended this past weekend with the final meets of the year, LEVEL A STATES.

MICHELLE DELYANNIS, who is in her first year competing for EXTREME, represented our GYMDAWGS, and accounted for herself quite nicely!

As made mention after last week’s Level B States, our staff is always expecting that our gymnasts are ready to “peak” at these season finales, and MICHELLE was able to step up and satisfy those expectations!

As has been our “luck” at every one of the State meets this year, once again, our rotation started off on BEAM. Despite a fall on this event, MICHELLE was still able to put up one of her highest Beam scores of the year.

From there, she put on a beautiful FLOOR routine to go 8.675 on that exercise, which was good enough for a 9th PLACE award.

MICHELLE then had a PERSONAL BEST on VAULT in scoring 9.1, giving her a 6th PLACE medal on that event.

In finishing up on BARS, MICHELLE was able to put up a high enough score to give her a CAREER PERSONAL BEST TOTAL in her ALL-AROUND, as she ended the competition scoring a 34.2.

That ALL-AROUND PERSONAL BEST enabled MICHELLE to capture the 8th PLACE award overall at Level A States and capped off her season with a great highlight!

In looking back at this season, despite having gymnasts that are very young in terms of competitive careers, COACH KIM and our school are most proud of ALL of their combined efforts!

EXTREME had 4 girls at the STATE meets this year. Out of a possible 20 AWARDS in those competitions, our GYMDAWGS collected 13 MEDALS, and more importantly, had a total of 9 PERSONAL BESTS in their season finales!

Whether they were at States or not, this current group of kids on TEAM, have a huge upside, with loads of potential! COACH KIM and the rest of our EXTREME staff look forward very much, towards working with these gymnasts and watching their successes, as they grow as both athletes, and young ladies!

BE EXTREME!

GYMDAWG JIVE FINAL LEVEL B

Leading up to States, one always hopes and expects that the gymnast is ready, ready to “peak”, ready to put closure on all the work it took to get to this level of competition.

And if the coaching staff has the athlete properly prepared, then, the gymnast should have plenty of successes, no matter how big or how small.

Sunday, at the JOGA Level B State Championship, MARGAUX TERHUNE was indeed ready and prepared! In the final meet of her season, MARGAUX exceeded all expectations and finished off with her best effort of the year!

Despite a shaky start, being up on BEAM, in her first rotation, MARGAUX picked up momentum as the meet went on, as she scored her 2nd highest UNEVEN BARS score ever, while having 3 CAREER, PERSONAL BESTS on FLOOR, VAULT and ALL-AROUND!

MARGAUX’S effort on BARS, gave her a THIRD PLACE MEDAL on that event, with her 8.7 on VAULT, also awarded her with a THIRD PLACE MEDAL there.

Her performance on FLOOR though, was outstanding! As she has done all season long, MARGAUX continued her “streak” of FIRST PLACE finishes on FLOOR, as her 8.475 score, won her the JOGA LEVEL B STATE CHAMPIONSHIP on that event!

Making it a perfect 6 out of 6 meets this season, that MARGAUX captured FIRST PLACE on FLOOR!

It should be noted, that out of the 226 competitors, in all of the age groups of the 5 sessions at B-States, only 5 gymnasts had Floor scores higher than MARGAUX’S! Not too shabby for an 11-year old in the 2nd year of competing!

Her third PERSONAL BEST, 31.95 in the ALL-AROUND, gave her yet another THIRD PLACE MEDAL!

COACH KIM was so very pleased and proud of MARGAUX’S performance!

MARGAUX’S FLOOR STATE CHAMPIONSHIP adds another STATE CHAMPION to KIM’S resume, making it 46 now in her JOGA coaching career!

Hats off also to the other TEAM coaches that worked with MARGAUX leading up to States, as ERIK, LIZ, and CARLA share in our GYMDAWG PRIDE!

GYMDAWG JIVE FINAL LEVEL C 020507

Season finale for our JOGA Level C gymnasts this past weekend, as JESSICA and BRIANNA had their STATE Competition.

Our GYMDAWGS were shorthanded as HALEY just missed getting medical clearance by about a week, and our TEAM missed her presence.

BRIANNA and JESSICA accounted themselves very well, as both are first year competitors and this was their first STATE MEET ever.

Their efforts were most noteworthy, as both girls won awards on multiple events. More importantly though was the fact that each girl put up at least one PERSONAL BEST SCORE in their last meet of the season!

JESS wound up placing 13th in the All-Around with a 28.35, 11th on Floor, 7th on Vault going 8.2, and 6th on Beam. Her Beam routine was almost flawless, as she had a PERSONAL BEST on that event, scoring a 7.7 there, and topping her previous high score on Beam by almost a full point! JESS also had PERSONAL BESTS on Vault, and her All-Around. Significant in those personal high scores, JESSICA finished this year off with the Level C Team’s highest scores this season on Vault, Beam, and All-Around!

BRIANNA ended the competition’s last session in fine fashion, picking up a 5th place award on Vault, and a 3rd place award on Floor. BRI’S Floor routine was perhaps the very best that it has been this entire year! Her 7.8 score there, not only gave her a PERSONAL BEST on that event, but also was the Level C’s highest score this season on the Floor Exercise!

JESS and BRIANNA’S efforts should be applauded, as our school’s rallying cry of “FINISH STRONG” was most evident by the performances of these 2 gymnasts!

Ladies, you made COACH KIM, very proud, as you represented our GYMDAWGS quite right!

YOU ARE EXTREME!

GYMDAWG JIVE 011507

Well, it didn’t go exactly as hoped and planned for with our Level C girls this past weekend, in their last opportunity to qualify for States. With some unusually and unexpected tough judging in the opening event on Floor, our kids were truly up against it right from the get-go. Gymnastics is a very subjective sport with regards to judging. Unfortunately, it seemed that one particular judge forgot that this was primarily a LEVEL C competition and in essence, made it fairly impossible for our State hopefuls to get their necessary scores. Nevertheless, without bitterness or crying the “poor-mes”, our gymnasts were very resilient in finishing off the regular season in admirable fashion.

MEG, REBECCA, and KATIE will have to wait till next year for States, as their season’s ended this past weekend. COACH KIM was so very proud of these kids as never once during this season did their efforts waver as they gave everything that they had each and every competition. Shaking off their disappointments from Floor, each of these girls came back with their highest event scores of the meet in the Vault rotation immediately afterwards. Then, closed their seasons out and finished strong with their final event on Beam. For those achievements, they should feel very proud, as it is those types of efforts that will bear successes in the future!

JESS had a nice warm-up to States as she picked up a couple of 2nds on Vault and in her All-Around.

BRIANNA could quite possibly be a force at States, as she once again swept all of the 1sts in her age group, and had a PERSONAL BEST on Beam with a nice “stuck” routine!

MARGAUX continued with her Level B success, with 1sts on Vault, Floor, and the All-Around. While she added PERSONAL BEST scores on Bars and her All-Around.

Leading our GYMDAWGS in scoring was our Level A gymnast MICHELLE, who had PERSONAL BESTS on Bars, Beam, and All-Around.

BRIANNA and JESS head to C-States, while we are hoping that HALEY gets her medical clearance so that she too, can join her teammates in the C season finale.

The next competitions for our GYMDAWGS will be OLIVIA’S first USAG Level 9 meet in a couple of weeks, C-States to follow, and then the continuation of the Level A and B seasons for MARGAUX and MICHELLE.

GYMDAWG JIVE 01-08-07

Lots to feel quite right about after this past Sunday’s competition in our DAWGHOUSE, with 12 PERSONAL BESTS from our girls.

Leading the team in scoring, and putting up her necessary 2nd score to qualify for A-STATES, was MICHELLE, with a 32.45. MICHELLE swept the board with FIRSTS in her age group and had a PERSONAL BEST on Vault, where she was the only gymnast in the competition to score a 9.0 for the day!

Also sweeping FIRSTS in her group was BRIANNA, who helped the C TEAM with 3 contributing scores.

REBECCA had a great accomplishment nailing her “fly-away” dismount on Bars for the first time ever, while picking up a PERSONAL BEST on Balance Beam.

MEGAN scored a couple of SECONDS, had a PERSONAL BEST on Beam, and just missed out on her 2nd State score.

Despite an injury to her foot, JESSICA came away with an awesome meet with 3 PERSONAL BESTS and 3 FIRSTS. JESS had her highest scores ever on Beam, in her All-Around, and on Vault, where she was the only Level C in the entire competition to score an 8 on any of the events!

Level B gymnast, MARGAUX threw a wonderful Vault and picked up a PERSONAL BEST on that event.

Perhaps the “feel-good” story of the day has to go to KATIE, who has been injured for this entire year. KATIE got medical clearance to tumble on Friday, came into the gym and did all 4 events at practice on Saturday, and then went out and competed, for the first time in her life Sunday!

And what a meet she had! Putting up a STATE qualifying score first time out, while picking up a FIRST PLACE AWARD on Floor, a couple of SECONDS, and obviously, 5 PERSONAL BESTS!

COACH KIM, toughing it out with injuries of her own, was proud and pleased by ALL of our gymnasts efforts, and will look forward to the last regular season meet of the year as our girls get ready for States.

Special THANK YOUS go out to our awesome PARENTS who helped with this event, to our WONDERFUL OFFICE STAFF who kept things running smoothly, to our other gymnasts who helped out and did a great job on the floor, COACHES LIZ and ERIK for their care, and lastly, to the PARENTS, COACHES, and GYMNASTS from JERSEY SHORE and PINELANDS, who were gracious and fun to have in our school!

GYMDAWG JIVE 12-18-06

Wonderful meet this past weekend in our DAWG-HOUSE, as our girls had mucho successes!

The Level C’s put up their HIGHEST TEAM SCORE this year to go along with 13 PERSONAL BESTS! The biggest improvement on event scoring came on BARS, where the girls improved their total score on that event by a point and a half!

Leading the C team was BRIANNA who put up a 27.6, which is the HIGHEST C SCORE this season. BRI had a PERSONAL BEST score on BARS, while she “STUCK” her BEAM routine.

JESSICA, who just missed qualifying for STATES in her last meet, did it this time as she received the necessary 2nd score for STATES on Sunday. JESS had 2 PERSONAL BESTS, on VAULT and BARS.

REBECCA had her HIGHEST SCORING MEET to date, as she achieved PERSONAL BESTS in her ALL-AROUND, BARS, and on VAULT.

MEGAN got her first qualifying score with STATES, and did so in a big way as she improved her ALL-AROUND SCORE by over 2.5 points! That was a PERSONAL BEST for MEG, as were her BARS, BEAM, and FLOOR.

In her first competition this year, MICHELLE got her first score necessary for A STATES as she led the EXTREME competitors with a 33 point ALL-AROUND.

MARGAUX makes it to B STATES after Sunday’s effort, where she put up PERSONAL BESTS on VAULT, BARS, and her ALL-AROUND.

With the squad being shorthanded, COACH KIM was very pleased with all of the girl’s efforts, particularly on BARS.

Many THANKS goes to ALL THE PARENTS and kids who helped out throughout the weekend as well as our injured gymnasts, KATIE, HALEY, and KAITLYN, for being there to support their TEAMMATES. A Special tip-of-the-hat goes to COACH ERIK, for his awesome National Anthem!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

GYMDAWG JIVE 12-04-06

With the competition much tougher, and the judging a bit more stringent, our GYMDAWGS came out of their 2nd meet of the season in pretty good shape.

Team wise, the Level C’s improved their event scores from their first meet on both Vault and on Bars, where they improved their score on that apparatus by a full point!

Qualifying for States, after just 2 meets were BRIANNA and HALEY, while JESSICA missed a State Score by only a tenth.

HALEY was the LEVEL C HIGH SCORER with a 26.25, as she had PERSONAL BESTS on Vault and Bars, with BRIANNA having a PERSONAL BEST on Vault.

REBECCA had a PERSONAL BEST on Bars and just missed placing on that event.

MEG came thru with PERSONAL BESTS on Vault, Floor, and her All-Around.

JESS added to the C Team’s 8 PERSONAL BESTS getting hers on Bars.

MARGAUX had her first meet of the season as a LEVEL B and put up some nice numbers with PERSONAL BESTS on Bars and in the All-Around where she scored a 30.5. MARGAUX now has her first State qualifying score.

All in all, COACH KIM was pleased with the girls’ efforts, as this was a very competitive meet, particularly in the age 10-11 age group. More improvements are expected as the girls have their next 2 meets in OUR DAWG HOUSE!

BE EXTREME!

The competitive season started off with a bang as OLIVIA LISOWSKI kicked the year off in a big-time way in the very first USAG meet of her career.

LIV set a PERSONAL BEST HIGHEST OVERALL SCORE with a 36.4 in finishing SECOND in the ALL-AROUND. Besides the personal best, OLIVIA also set a NEW SCHOOL RECORD with that score! On FLOOR, she won FIRST PLACE as her 9.275 was the HIGHEST SCORE on that event out of the 70+ gymnasts at the competition.

OLIVIA wound up taking an additional SECOND PLACE on BARS and “STICKING” her BEAM routine to capture a THIRD PLACE AWARD there.

While now qualifying out of Level 7, LIV will participate in another meet at that Level in October, as she looks to move forward in her USAG career.

GYMDAWG JIVE #2 100206

OLIVIA LISOWSKI finished her Level 7 career by performing an “amazing” FLOOR ROUTINE, (as quoted by the judge during the evaluation portion of the meet), that gave her a 9.425 PERSONAL BEST SCORE on that event.

LIV went on to win the FIRST PLACE ALL-AROUND AWARD with a 35.825 final score, in what will be her last competition at this Level.

She will now move up and compete as a Level 8 gymnast the remainder of this year, with her first meet being at Rutgers in November.

With the High School Season in full swing, credit must be given to both OLIVIA and KIM, her coach, for being able to get thru these opening weeks of competitions while in essence, “cross-training” 3 different levels of skills the past couple of months.

BE EXTREME!

Leading the TEAM at States was OLIVIA LISOWSKI. OLIVIA was one of only 19 gymnasts to compete at A States as an A+ Level. This Level had some of the most talented and remarkable gymnasts in the State. Despite being the 3rd youngest competitor in A+, OLIVIA’S performance was certainly noteworthy, as she executed probably the very best FLOOR routine of her life in going 9.225, and giving her a FOURTH place award on that exercise. That score was also a PERSONAL BEST for her, while her 35.05 ALL-AROUND led the TEAM. As an A+ gymnast, OLIVIA, along with the other competitors, received a nice plaque, commemorating the accomplishment, courtesy of the JOGA board. LIV also received a lot of congrats from judges, coaches, and other gymnasts for competing her “Phelps” VAULT at this competition.

It was announced that our HEAD COACH, KIM LISOWSKI was elected to the JOGA board as JOGA COACH’S REP, which was a wonderful honor to end the weekend.

OLIVIA LISOWSKI led the A TEAM in scoring for the 7th time in 8 meets, putting up her third 35.0 or higher score this year. Despite competing her “Phelps” vault for the first time in competition, LIV continued her season streak of never scoring less than a 9.0 on this event and will look to nail that sonuvagun at States!

It’s no wonder the LEVEL A TEAM put up their HIGHEST SCORE of the season, as 3 of the 4 girls had PERSONAL BESTS in their ALL-AROUNDS, with the other, going just 2 tenths below her highest score of the year.

OLIVIA LISOWSKI put up a 35.4 to lead the team, as she had a PERSONAL BEST on BEAM with a “STUCK” routine. OLIVIA becomes the FIRST GYMNAST in our SCHOOL to qualify and be recognized for the newly formed JOGA A+ LEVEL with her SECOND 35+ score this season.
